ELLIE and Sophie Behan, alongside

Megan Brunt and Maedhbh Ni Chleirigh, tried their hands at a print workshop in the LexIcon Library during Culture Night recently. The community facility was just one of the many Dun Laoghaire venues that opened to the public for a night of activities and events during the popular annual national event. The LexIcon was abuzz with activity, as young and old alike enjoyed a wide range of creative events.

€10m for housing lies idle amid confusion Local authority and Environment in wrangle over fund allocation

 aisling kennedy

CONFUSION over how €10.47m should be spent on social housing by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is mounting as both the council and the

housing, could not be spent until the council received a directive from the Minister for the Environment Alan Kelly. The Department, however, disputes this and said: “We’ve no knowledge of a specific

€10m to Dun LaoghaireRathdown for housing ... Identifying and developing new social housing projects in relation to that target is a matter for the local authority.” Full Story on Page 4
