Ministry of Sound started out as a nightclub in London, but has since diversified into a multimedia entertainment business. In addition to the nightclub, it is an independent record label and worldwide events brand with a radio station and other media outlets. W H AT I S I T ?

In a world where esthetics are often very similar and outdated, I wanted to take the opportunity to create something different, something ‘edgy’. Instead of having lots of illustrations, novelty typefaces and pop-color, I wanted the identity to be more sophisticated and simple, while at the same not not loosing its edge. I opted to use a combination of simple and modern typography and graphics, with a set of bold color combinations. O K AY, W H Y ?

RAW Magazine is a collection of award-winning articles that discuss the ever lasting and important issue of drug traff icking and the cartel wars on the Mexican peninsula. The magazine is highly conceptual. W H AT I S I T ?

The topic of the magazine is very gritty, almost morbid. However, it doesn’t make it any less true and relevant. The texts are important and should be read, regardless of your stand on the issue. To get people interested in reading it, the design is intended to catch the eye and make someone want to pick it up. It uses the very fundamentals of design to reflect its title and topic – the paper is a raw kraft, the colors are pure PMS basics, the photography effects are simple. The magazine is then printed and remained uncut from its actual intended dimensions, leaving the crop and CMYK press mark untouched. It is bound using an wood and screws to mimic newspapers kept at libraries. It is finished off by being sealed in a red plastic pocket that obscures the magazine in a semi transparent blood red color. O K AY, W H Y ?

The Ashenvale Reserve is a white rye whiskey from the Appalachian mountains of northern Tennessee. It is produced in small batches by people with skills passed down from generation to generation. W H AT I S I T ?

While most whiskeys out there mimic each other in terms of look, feel and especially color, I wanted this project to be about something else. The inspiration actually comes from modern small magazines known as “zines, where the mood is perhaps more important than the actual content. With that stated, the goal was to combine a traditional take on whiskey design, with a modern approach to print design. O K AY, W H Y ?

Rรถrstrand Porslinsfabrik is one of the most famous Swedish porcelain manufacturers, with production dating back as early as the 13th century. For almost 300 years, the company has bee synonymous with quality and craftsmanship. Their plates and dining ware have become important heirlooms passed down through generations, as well as sought after collectibles that are potentially worth small fortunes. W H AT I S I T ?

I an probably one of very few of the so called younger generation to not only like Rรถrstrand for what it is, but who also buy their products for personal use. Instead, many young Swedes will opt to go for a more modern alternative when buying dining ware. That is why I wanted to create a more modern, younger and cleaner collection for this otherwise very classic company. The collection is showcased through a look and feel book designed using only blue elements such as blue color pigments, markers, tape, ink ... as an homage to the company heritage as a classical ceramic manufacturer. Zwarte Wateren is a dutch premium beer label. The names means ‘Black Water’ which reflects the product (black ale) and the design. The beer is one of the more expensive on the market at an approximate 35 dollars per pint bottle. This beer is brewed by a brewery called Van Wijk & Dijkstra (v.V&D) that is based in Harlingen, Holland. W H AT I S I T ?

The brewery strives to be different in terms of beer brewing and sees their trade as high cultured as wine and champagne production. With that said, the design of the product reflects the company’s ambition of being as elegant and high end as either of the two. Therefore, the design is scaled down and focuses on sophisticated typography and simple toned down colors. O K AY, W H Y ?

Live is a live-feed app that keeps its user updated about current events that happens in whatever city they are currently located in. From concerts to big sporting events, book readings to restaurant openings, Live is intended to cover it all and get you into what ever event you want to attend – striving for you to never be bored ever again. W H AT I S I T ?

A lot of app designs before iOS 7 were very detailed and often overdesigned in my opinion. Wherefore, I wanted to make a simpler approach to UX – remembering saying ‘I want my app to not look like an app’. I decided to make my design flat, even before iOS 7 came out. The simpler approach is intended to create a easier user experience provide more legible information. I also wanted the app to be ‘self sufficient’, meaning that it is the only source you need to get informed, buy a ticket and attend the event of your choice. O K AY, W H Y ?

Villa Romana is a pantry brand from Italy that carries Italian classics such as pastas, pesto spreads, olive oils and tomato sauces. This project was group effort by myself, Therese Ottem and Itay Kapitulnik.

W H AT I S I T ?

The Identity of Villa Romana features a very intricate letter V that takes its inspiration from old monograms found in gates of European manors and estates. Its used to suggest a Italian heritage that also reflects the quality of the products. The yellow color of the brand is very bold – we intend for the brand to have a strong store presence by using color blocking, the yellow is also a classic color for Italian food packaging. Planet Obscura is a promotional print series designed to showcases Mohawks Panoramic paper line using more experimental typography and graphics. W H AT I S I T ?

The concept of the book is based around the paper line title ‘Panoramic’. The book is a journal from the point of view of an astronaut who travels from earth into outer space for the first time, who through the vantage point of being miles away form it, can see the vast damage we as human beings has done to our planet. Planet Obscura talks about his experience and grief when realizing what we as a species have to sacrifice in order to advance technologically. The environmental aspect of the book echoes the paper lines promise of being eco-friendly. O K AY, W H Y ?

/LOADING INFORMATION.(‘*) /1.1.2.(.;?)

1. DRIVE LESS The main source of air pollution comes form our cars. People living in Los Angeles spend 60 hours per month in their cars. That is more than three times the amount of what people living in New York City do. Driving might be the only means of transport for a lot of people, but it is still something that needs to be reduced. 2. SWITCH TO AN ALTERNATIVED FUELED CAR Electric, hydrogen or even bio-ethanol fueled cars could potentionally reduce your carbon monoxide emission by as much as 98%. 3. THINK ABOUT HOW YOU DRIVE A lot of people do not realize it, but by simply driving you car properly, you can lower your admission and use up to 40% less fuel. Driving properly means to plan your driving; less full on stops, less full trottle starts - simply keeping a steady, and gentle pace in your way of driving. 4. CONSIDER PUBLIC TRANSPORT WHEN POSSIBLE Commuting to work is something that most people do every day. In L.A, people drive on average, 50 minutes to work, and 50 minutes home from work. Statistically, 8.5/10 of these commutes, is done by a car with only 1 occupant. By only filling up one regular L.A county public bus with 45 people, more than 700 gallons of fueled could be saved in a single day, from just 45 people taking the bus.

including mechanics, electromagnetism, statistical mechanics, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, relativity, nuclear and particle physics, and atomic and molecular physics. In practice, modern astronomical research involves a substantial amount of physics. The name of a university's department ("astrophysics" or "astronomy") often has to do more with the department's history than with the contents of the programs. Astrophysics can be studied at the bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. levels in aerospace engineering, physics, or astronomy departments at many universities.

Astrophysics is the branch of astronomy that deals with the physics of the universe, including the physical properties of celestial objects, as well as their interactions and behavior. Among the objects studied are galaxies, stars, planets, exoplanets, the interstellar medium and the cosmic microwave background. Their emissions are examined across all parts of the electromagnetic spectrum, and the properties examined include luminosity, density, temperature, and chemical composition. Because astrophysics is a very broad subject, astrophysicists typically apply many disciplines of physics,

We all have a different idea, or view of the world we live in; some regard it as a closed place where we hang our coats, eat or food and go to bed. On the other hand, some people regard it as an entity, a place in the universe that mankind share. Regardless of what your view might be, we all have an equal responsibillity to do our part in order to maintain the only place that human beings can call home. We all know how this can be done; use less and do more. Our planet is slowly dying, the evidence of this is staggering. Yet, man’s effect on the planet is steadily pointing down.

How do you percieve the world? Correction, how do you percieve your world?

In 2009, Mohawk opened a warehouse in Amsterdam, NL, reflecting the company’s growing international commitment, which includes sales offices in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. At the same time, Mohawk increased its presence in the online world with the launch of mowhakpaperstore.com, feltandwire.com, and feltandwireshop.com. This effort continued with the creation of pinholepress.com and pinholepro.com in 2010 and now our all-new mohawkconnects.com flagship site.

DAY 2

In 2005, Mohawk began to expand its premium paper operations with the acquisition of the Strathmore and Beckett brands from International Paper Company. This move was complemented by the subsequent acquisition of the SMART Papers brands in 2009 and the company’s decision to begin converting and distributing its own envelopes. In 2011, the company made another significant move, acquiring Bravo Solutions, a leading supplier of specialty synthetic and paper substrates for digital printing. After a process of consolidation and redesign, Mohawk now offers a diverse palette of highly regarded paper brands and specialty substrates that are perfectly adapted for today’s designer and printer.

The orbiter decelerated in the atmosphere before flying like a glider but with reaction control system thrusters before landing on a long runway. Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis, and Endeavour were the space-capable orbiters that were built.

During launch, the external tank provided fuel for the orbiter's main engines. The SRBs and ET were jettisoned before the orbiter reached orbit. At the conclusion of the orbiter's space mission, it fired its thrusters to drop out of orbit and re-enter the lower atmosphere.

Five space-worthy orbiters were built; two were lost in mission accidents. The Space Shuttle at launch consisted of the Orbiter Vehicle (OV), one external tank (ET), and two Solid Rocket Boosters (SRBs). It was launched vertically like a conventional rocket with thrust from the two SRBs and three main engines.

Major missions included launching numerous satellites, interplanetary probes, the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), conducting space science experiments, and constructing and servicing the International Space Station. Major components included the orbiters, recoverable boosters, external tanks, payloads, and supporting infrastructure.

The first of four orbital test flights occurred in 1981 leading to operational flights beginning in 1982. It was used on a total of 135 missions from 1981 to 2011 all launched from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

The Space Shuttle was a partially reusable launch system and orbital spacecraft operated by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for human spaceflight missions. The system combined rocket launch, orbital spacecraft, and re-entry spaceplane with modular add-ons.

Today, the third generation of the O’Connor family is guiding Mohawk, honoring its rich history while looking ahead to the future. With CEO Tom O’Connor, Jr. at the helm, the company has embraced the process of reinvention as it faces a radically changing market. While the company still manufactures premium papers on three paper machines in upstate New York, Mohawk is driving to be an essential supplier of non-paper substrates with the acquisition of Bravo Solutions, Inc., software, and services for today’s digital printer, and to create new platforms that demonstrate the power of print and connect designers and printers to new

In 2003, in support of our long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability, Mohawk became the only paper mill and one of the first large-scale production facilities in the United States to offset emissions from electric power generation with the purchase of renewable energy credits (RECs) issued by wind farms. This commitment to windpower is part of a series of voluntary efforts over time that also include reducing natural gas and electrical consumption, capping air emissions, reducing water usage by almost half, and converting our fleet of trucks to a biodiesel fuel mix.

Mohawk was founded in 1931 in upstate New York, where the Hudson and Mohawk rivers come together. Here generations of papermakers honed their craft on fine papers for letterpress printers in the northeastern US. The company was started when George O’Connor acquired the Frank Gilbert Paper Company at the beginning of the Great Depression. From this modest origin, Mohawk has grown through careful management and investment over three generations of the O’Connor family, and today the company is a thriving business with a global presence and expanding markets.

Hooves & Fin is a classic British butcher based in London that sells some of the finest quality meat that the British isles has to offer. This was a group project created together with Therese Ottem and Itay Kapitulnik W H AT I S I T ?

Though Hooves & Fin is a traditional British butcher shop which identity screams heritage, it uses a not so traditional packaging solution. The concept behind the packaging comes from something that both me and Therese identifies as consequently British – fabric patterns. Very few things signify “Britishness to us as much as a classic paisley or argyle pattern, so the solution for the project was to use these patterns as wrapping paper, with each pattern representing a different meat category. We created these patterns from scratch and combined them with simple organic labels with handwriting. We did this because we wanted to combine something old with something more modern.
