Happy Holidays, After what seemed to be a summer that lasted forever, winter is finally here. According to the Las Vegas ReviewJournal, “the summer of 2020 recorded 97 days with highs of 100 or more.” The record is 100 days, set in 1947. Real estate, on the other hand, isn’t cooling down. October closed sales were up 16% over September and 86% over October 2019! If we take a look at the pending sales, as of 10/31, there were 201 guard gated homes under contract, which is up from 190 in September!

I expect the market to continue to do well into next year. However, nobody has a crystal ball. There is still plenty of uncertainty out there with COVID-19, unemployment, etc. What I do know is that the market is great right now. If you’re considering taking advantage of the momentum in the market, let’s talk sooner than later. Should you decide to have a free consult with our stager/ designer, you might choose to make a few adjustments before putting your home on the market—so it can be valuable to talk well before your scheduled sale date.

When it comes to having a smooth sale, home inspections still manage to create some last-minute stress for sellers and buyers. The most common issues are pool plaster, pumps, and lights in need of repair/ replacement, broken roof tiles, and HVAC problems. If you’re aware of any possible issues, it’s better to fix them now to pave the way for a smoother closing. Whether you are buying or selling, preparation helps guarantee you the best results. Since learning Photoshop in the early 2000s, Mike has kept his finger on the pulse of graphic design trends and technology. He is proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop—three flagship programs by Adobe, the industry standard for design and media production. As a freelancer, he worked across multiple industries before starting his first in-house design position at the Rob Jensen Company in 2019. In his personal life, Mike is a lover of art and music. He has been an active drummer since 2007 and has even toured the country with his band. When he’s not rocking out on a Friday night, you might find him sipping whisky with his wife and two American Bulldogs (the pups don’t drink because they’re not 21 yet). A Santa Barbara native, Mike has an ingrained love for beaches and palm trees. He lives his life by the immortal words of Tom Waits: “Never let the weeds get higher than the garden, and always keep a diamond in your mind.”
