About the NAIA The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, is the governing body for all athletic programs in more than 260 colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada. coaching staff eric sims, 6th season VARSITY HEAD COACH Coach Sims enters his sixth season leading the Rochester College Women's Basketball Team. He has led the team to USCAA National Tournament Appearances in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. During his tenure, the team has also made two trips to the A.I.I. Conference Tournament in the three years it has been a member of the NAIA. His career record is 78-83. Coach Sims has coached seven All-Americans and numerous Academic All-Americans and Scholar Athletes. Sims graduated from Churchill High School in Livonia, Mich., and Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., where he graduated with a degree in Kinesiology/ Sports Medicine. While at Lipscomb, he was able to work with legendary basketball coach and ESPN ESPY winner Don Meyer. Shortly after graduating from Lipscomb, Sims joined the Rochester College Men's Basketball team as an assistant coach under celebrated coach, Garth Pleasant, where his main duty was coaching the post players. During his 11 seasons on Coach Pleasant's staff, Sims was fortunate to be a part of two USCAA National Championship teams. Eric is married to the former Jill Shultz of East Liverpool, Ohio. They have two sons, Corson and Braden, and reside in Redford, Mich.
