1-5 April 2024 Rochester Independent College is a co-educational day and boarding school. Founded in 1984, we are an independent school with an excellent academic record and our own onsite halls of residence. Uniquely for a Kent independent school there is no uniform and students and teachers are on first-name terms in class sizes that average 8. The College combines a relaxed informality with the academic focus of a school that consistently sends students to top universities. We have been teaching Easter Revision Courses to GCSE and A level students during the Easter holidays since 1984. The fresh approach to study aims to increase confidence and grade prospects at this crucial time.
Structured Revision Structured revision without distraction during the Easter holidays. Precise syllabus knowledge and detailed examination preparation help to maximise students’ potential. Past Easter Revision students comment that they felt very much better prepared and that they approached their examinations with far greater confidence. The teachers work through students’ problem areas rather than attempting to cover the whole syllabus. Our courses are much more effective and enjoyable than solitary home-based revision and may be fully residential in our on-site halls of residence for students aged 15 or over only, if required. Our subject specialists are all experienced members of staff. The teaching style is interactive and informal which helps to maximise student strengths and overcome areas of difficulty. A different learning environment with a new teacher allows students to feel comfortable asking the questions they really want to ask and revisit parts of the syllabus they need to revise. Students may have gaps in their notes or need more detailed explanations in certain problem areas.
