Rockhampton is hitting the radar as Australia’s newest winter mountain biking destination. Surrounded by the Berserker and Dee Ranges, Rockhampton finds itself ideally located between two epic mountain bike parks, and with 300 days of sunshine and a sub-tropical climate, Rockhampton is perfect for those looking to escape the winter down south. First Turkey Mountain Bike Park, located on the side of Mount Archer (Nurim) National Park in the heart of the city boasts 28kms of trails and a 500 metre descent across 33 tracks, ideal for all skill levels. The Mount Morgan trails are located around Mount Morgan’s Recreational Reserve, offering over 20kms of trails around the No. 7 Dam providing cross country style tracks with elevated peaks with views over the dam and into town.
