‘BRAVE NEW WORLD’ THE NEW SINGLE AVAILABLE TODAY LISTEN HERE FROM ‘COLUMBIA’ THE DEBUT ALBUM OUT SEPTEMBER 21ST ON MODERN SKY UK ALSO CONTAINS THE 6MUSIC PLAYLISTED SINGLE ‘L’ETAT C’EST MOI’ “Their music flows with a groove and swagger built on those post-industrial bass lines but still dripping with melody...They could be the best young band in Britain right now” Louder Than War “One of the fastest rising bands in the UK at the moment" Record Of The Day

“Worship to the call of the idiot king as this Brave New World rears its ugly head, mother told me it's us or them. A visualisation of humanity that depraves our humanity. From Poll Tax laws to Soviet Wars, they drown out the howls of those they deplore.” The Blinders 'Brave New World' is the new single from The Blinders, available now on Modern Sky UK. The track is taken from the Manchester-based trio’s debut album ‘Columbia’, which will be released September 21st and is available to pre-order. The album also includes the singles ‘L’Etat C’Est Moi’, which was a Huw Stephens Tune Of The Week on Radio 1 and playlisted at 6Music, and ‘Gotta Get Through’, which spent five weeks at No.1 on Amazing Radio. Produced by Gavin Monaghan (Editors, The Sherlocks, Goldblade) and named after the utopia which Charles Manson promised his “Family,” ‘Columbia’ is a bracingly thrilling debut which firmly places The Blinders at the vanguard of a new generation of politically engaged British guitar bands.

The album’s striking cover pictures singer/guitarist Thomas Haywood in the tribal warpaint he wears for live shows, where he assumes the fearless persona of Johnny Dream. ‘Columbia’ sees 21 year-old childhood friends Haywood (vocals, guitar), Charlie McGough (bass) and Matt Neale (drums) follow Johnny Dream on his spiritual awakening, from the coruscating swagger of the opening ‘Gotta Get Through’ to the raw, beautiful and ultimately redemptive finale ‘Orbit (Salmon Of Alaska)’. Growing up in Doncaster, the trio were originally inspired by local heroes Arctic Monkeys, though ‘Columbia’ was inspired as much by literary touchstones such as George Orwell and Jack Kerouac as much as their musical influences, who include Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Kanye West and The Wytches. After a series of prestigious festival appearances including Kendal Calling and Festival No.6, The Blinders will follow the release of ‘Columbia’ with an extensive UK headline tour throughout October and November. The 22 dates are the trio’s second headline tour of 2018. They kick off in their adopted hometown of Manchester at Academy 2 on October 15th and include a show at London’s The Garage on November 7th. The Blinders have been picking up specialist radio support since their first DIY releases from the likes of Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Daniel P Carter, Radio X’s John Kennedy, and 6Music’s Chris Hawkins and Steve Lamacq, who recently had the band on his show for a BBC Music Introducing Session.
