* New live show! * Saturday 18th August at Genesis Cinema Feminist Film Festival's #WomenInFilm2018 with L7 screening. Produced by the increasingly essential Paul Tipler, this is an infectious track that mashes riotous punk grit with driving beats and hooky synths. ‘Is This Love’, the new single from up up up and coming, Bugeye, already sounds like a disco-punk classic.

Inspired by 80s club anthem ‘I Feel Love’, by Donna Summer, this is a twisted version asking what is love, really? Do we only believe what we hear? In this day and age, can we truly trust what we see any more? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and love can turn into suffocating obsession. Bugeye are a band with a big heart, and much to say. They have steadily been picking up national, independent and international radio play, lively fans, strong acclaim and, this year, an encouraging number of sold out shows in small venues. The people are coming on side. Bugeye’s (one out, one in, packed out) Camden Rocks Festival appearance in June relaunched legendary space, The Good Mixer, with such a buzzing headline set that they’ve been invited back to kick off a new, guitar fuelled monthly social at the same location for their ‘Is This Love’ single launch. Bugeye have art at heart. Look out for the video, from which the image below (by Julia Woolams) is a still. In a recent interview with It’s All Indie, they explained; “We love playing with different genres with videos and secretly wish to be film makers, so expect some entertaining music videos with a twist. We have been writing an album so it has been pretty nonstop on the creating front."

Intimate 50 capacity event 2018 is proving to be their biggest year so far; musical activists in the vanguard of Britain’s newer wave of ambition, Bugeye operate on a DIY ethos with all PR, management, music production and videos done by themselves, with a little help from their friends. In July 2018, 'Is This Love' received a couple of plays on BBC Radio from Janice Long and Bethan Elfyn, as well as Radio X from John Kennedy. Various cool independent shows are giving them early attention, too.
