NEW SINGLE ‘GOTTA GET THROUGH’ OUT NOW Watch the video here Single release heralds debut album, new summer live dates and festival appearances "The voice of youth: raw, untutored, and telling it like it is" CLASH "Best band in the country right now. You'd be a fool to ignore them." CABBAGE
‘Gotta Get Through’ urgently escalates, through an aural spectrum into an inexplicably hooky explosion of glorious sounds. A fitting introduction to the credible, incredible, new movement in music; The Blinders. This is their first release for Modern Sky UK, after the band had spent winter hibernating in Magic Garden Studios with producer Gavin Monaghan recording a debut album, to be released this autumn, a creation into which band and producer alike poured their souls. Makers of the video, Nasty Man Creations, say "This video is an abstract portrait that explores the warped reality of the downward spiral that is everyday life.” The Blinders themselves describe it as “a proverbial palate cleanser from our first full length offering. Tear down the walls of presumption and enter the void of reality and experience the truth of our emblematic columbia through the distorted lens of Johnny Dream. An abstract portrait.” Watch it here. Picking up key radio support since their first DIY releases, from the likes of Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Radio X’s John Kennedy, and 6Music’s Steve Lamacq and Chris Hawkins, the band proved a hit at last year’s festivals (Reading, Leeds, Isle Of Wight, TRMSMT) then, through February 2018, they staged their first headline tour, with a stack of sold out dates, prior to announcing further headline shows in London and Manchester this June. The belief and energy around them, and their new material, is intensifying at an encouragingly alarming rate. Doncaster bred and Manchester based, The Blinders are Thomas Haywood (guitar, vocals, word), Charlie McGough (bass guitar), Matthew Neale (drums, backing vocals). Influenced as much by the daily news as music, their impact, even at this early stage, cannot be over stated. The scene is set. Now The Blinders gotta get through…
