FRONTIERS MUSIC SRL Founded in Napoli by Serafino Perugino, as a business specialized in the Italian distribution of Melodic Rock indie labels in February 1996, Frontiers soon developed as one of the cutting edge indie label companies in Melodic and Hard Rock Music. After a developing a partnership - which lasted the few initial years with the british production company Now & Then (who brought bands and artists like TEN, HAREM SCAREM, CROWN OF THORNS, JORN and several others into the label’s roster) - along with a careful and aggressive A&R policy, Frontiers has soon become synonymous with quality Classic and Melodic Hard Rock, Progressive and Metal music in the international markets. Achieving this from the headquarters in Napoli, was not an easy task, but the well-oiled and highly ambitious team, managed in a few years to release new albums from some of Rock true giants. The list includes: DEF LEPPARD, TOTO, WHITESNAKE, YES, JOURNEY, ALAN PARSONS, MICHAEL BOLTON, SURVIVOR, SEBASTIAN BACH, STYX, ASIA, JEFF LYNNE and ELO, HEART, BLACKMORE’S NIGHT, GLENN HUGHES, Y&T, FOREIGNER, EXTREME, SAMMY HAGAR, WINGER, URIAH HEEP, DANGER DANGER, RICK SPRINGFIELD, HOUSE OF LORDS, REO SPEEDWAGON, STRYPER, MR BIG, TED NUGENT, NIGHT RANGER, PRIMAL FEAR, NELSON, WARRANT, GREAT WHITE, DENNIS DEYOUNG and many more! Besides that, Frontiers also set up during this time many exciting new projects and bands to release of Rock’s finest voices, or give some still established artists the chance to show a new side of their musical personality! Shining examples are REVOLUTION SAINTS (featuring Deen Castronovo ex-Journey, Doug Aldrich ex-Whitesnake and Jack Blades of Night Ranger/Damn Yankees), RATED X (feat. Joe Lynn Turner, Carmine Appice, Tony Franklin and Karl Cochran), W.E.T (with Jeff Scott Soto and members of Eclipse and Work of Art), THE DARK ELEMENT (featuring ex-Nightwish singer Anette Olzon and ex-Sonata Arcti-

ca guitarist Jani Liimatainen) not forgetting the evolution of KANSAS’ Billy Greer and his SEVENTH KEY release, from a studio project to a real live band and the stunning PRIDE OF LIONS, featuring former SURVIVOR main songwriter Jim Peterik and vocal star Toby Hitchcock. And of course a ton of exciting new talent launched during the years (from ECLIPSE to ONE DESIRE and INGLORIOUS, to CRAZY LIXX, LORDS OF BLACK, WORK OF ART and of course several others) which is now where the A&R focus of the label is. Frontiers Records’ foreword has always been to dream together with the thousands of people that love quality Rock music. Achieving this means constant hard work from a well-oiled and highly ambitious team at the Frontiers Records headquarters in Napoli, Italy. The Frontiers staff takes care of all relevant business matters: contracts, licensing, sales, promotion, etc. Frontiers has a publishing arm and booking office for shows in Europe and other territories and has now also an office in Nashville, USA. Millions of records sold and several international Top 10 album chart entries are there to prove and testify Frontiers work and business ethics! There can be little doubt about it that it is Frontiers’ professionalism that sets them apart from other independent Rock labels. Since late summer of 2014, Frontiers is now operating under the new trade name Frontiers Music Srl. Frontiers also cultivate a very demanding relationship with the artists they sign. Their most important rules in working with any of them are respect and commitment. The label requires a positive attitude and GREAT - not ‘simply’ good music - from their artists and in return, stands 100% behind them and their releases. What else could you ask for to ensure a positive future for Melodic Hard Rock music!? Marco Spath (Melodic Rock Fanzine) & Mario de Riso

KNAC-FM (branded as Pure Rock 105.5 KNAC) was a Long Beach heavy metal FM radio station based in Los Angeles County. It was owned by Fred Sands, and broadcast at 105.5 MHz for nine years, from January 8, 1986 to February 15, 1995; immediately after the “sign-off”, it was replaced by the Spanish-language radio station known as KBUE (Que Buena). In February 1998, however, KNAC was revived as an internet-based radio station, which still exists to this day. Prior to 1986, KNAC had existed in several different formats, including “freeform” and the new wave/alternative rock format “Rock N Rhythm”.

KNAC at 105.5 FM

The original KNAC was based in Long Beach, California and served Los Angeles and Orange counties on the FM band at a center frequency of 105.5 MHz. KNAC-FM had a variety of different formats. With a relatively weak radio signal and a small geographical area, KNAC never appeared in the Arbitron radio ratings. Outside the Los Angeles area, the station gained a huge following from heavy metal fans across the United States (via marketing and selling of t-shirts, stickers, compact discs, etc., with ads in heavy metal fan magazines). Before KNAC became popular under the heavy metal format, KNAC was branded as “The Knack.”

Heavy Metal Era

In 1984, Fred Sands purchased the radio station at a bankruptcy auction. Sands advertised in trade publications indicating his desire to hire a general manager with major market experience. Gary “The Coach” Price, an industry veteran, took the job and worked with Sands, who was intimately involved for the first year. The antenna was moved from Signal Hill to Dominguez Hills, increasing the coverage KNAC band calendar, circa 1987; featuring local bands (Photo courtesy of Child Saint) area. In addition, Sands and Price ordered and installed state-of-the-art equipment for the new studio location and hired a new engineer. With all the new improvements, Sands and Price recognized that KNAC needed a new sound as well. Under the direction of consultant Jeff Pollack and Associates they selected a heavy metal format, targeting younger

Original on-air talent included Ted “Thrasher/Thrashpie” Pritchard, Kat “Killer Kat” Snow, Wild Bill Scott, Lady Di, Gonzo Greg, Sam Frez, Stewart “Stew” Herrera, Paul Lobster, Long Paul, The Razor, with Scorchin’ Scotty and the late Tawn “The Leather Nun” Mastery who took over Kat’s shift in 1986. KNAC played a wide variety of heavy metal and rockbased music from the late-1960s to 1995, the radio station’s last year on the air, including classic rock, hard rock, traditional heavy metal, progressive rock/ metal, power metal, glam metal, thrash metal, crossover thrash, death metal, groove metal, alternative metal and grunge. KNAC was also responsible for helping launch the careers of previously low-key metal and hard rock bands, and is often credited for being the first radio station to promote new bands before their large-scale success, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Megadeth, Skid Row, Metal Church, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, White Zombie, Poison, Testament, Stryper, Lizzy Borden and Armored Saint.

unions took place on January 8–9, 2016. On January 8, former KNAC DJ Ted “Thrasher” Pritchard hosted a reunion show on his podcast “Thrashpie Radio”, where many of the DJs, production directors, and other former employees of KNAC (including general manager Gary “The Coach” Price) shared their experiences at the radio station. The podcast also included audio clips from various KNAC events, as well as bumper sticker advertisements and promos. On the day after, Los Angeles rock station KLOS hosted a five-hour KNAC tribute, titled “The KNAC Pure Rock Salute”, hosted by former KNAC DJs Stew, Gonzo Greg, Long Paul, Thrasher and Dangerous Darren Silva. The “Pure Rock Salute” duplicated KNAC’s format, complete with imaging, bumper sticker advertisements, and many songs that had not been played on terrestrial radio in Los Angeles since KNAC signed off two-and-a-half decades earlier. It also included interviews with Scott Ian, Rob Halford and Lars Ulrich (who DJ’d on the final day of KNAC in 1995). The “Pure Rock Salute” broadcast is available for download at archive.org.

Sands and Price had worked together for about ten years. Sands sold the radio station in 1994 for five times what he paid for it in 1984.

Decline in Popularity

By late 1991, heavy metal was losing ground to the growing popularity of various “alternative subcultures”.

Reunions

In June 2007, it was announced that KNAC DJ Tawn Mastrey had to leave her job as host of Hair Nation on Sirius Satellite Radio as a result of complications caused by Hepatitis C; she died from the disease on October 2, 2007. To build awareness of Mastrey’s situation, a KNAC-FM “On Air” reunion was held on July 28, 2007 at WPMD.org on the campus of Cerritos College in Norwalk, California, which included many of the original KNAC air personalities and Price. PETE WAY BAND Rock & Blues Festival, Pentrich, Derbyshire UK NIGEL HART FACEBOOK REVIEW | 27 JULY 2019

In a week when Blighty was scorched by temperatures topping a sizzling 100 degrees, the contrast today was palpable, as the heaven’s opened and only the PETE WAY BAND were Too Hot To Handle this time round!!! Not to be deterred, around 7,000 eager punters braved the elements to get to the Coney Grey Showground in Pentrich, Derbyshire for this year’s ROCK & BLUES CUSTOM SHOW. Amongst a plethora of amazing petrol & chrome horses on display, the gathered throng would also be entertained by the likes of Brian Tatler’s rejuvenated DIAMOND HEAD, REEF and of course my partners in crime THE PETE WAY BAND!!! With a lively and energetic set compiled of songs taken from Pete’s recent album AMPHETAMINE, along with a selection of WAYSTED anthem’s and a few surprises culled from the UFO back catalogue, the set included YOU AND ME, AMERICAN KID, SHOOT SHOOT, DRINKING TONIGHT, FOOLED AGAIN, NARCOTICS, HEARTACHE, CRAZY, HEAVEN TONIGHT, TOO HOT TO HANDLE, DOCTOR DOCTOR and closed with a barnstorming ONLY YOU CAN ROCK ME!!!

NIGEL HART BASSIST WITH POUK HILL PROPHETZ With a band comprised of the pedigree talents of Clive EDWARDS (Drums), Jason POOLE (Bass/Mandolin) and the dual guitar histrionics of the irrepressive Tym SCOPES and the ever in demand Laurence ARCHER, Pete held the audience captivated in the palm of his hand and entertained with his between song anecdotes and playful bon homie throughout!!! VERY SPECIAL THANKS to all the ROCK & BLUES Team, along with our own amazing PETE WAY BAND Crew and Team who assisted in making this a memorable night and may there be many more to come!!!

Interview With Pete Way At WinterStorm Troon BY IAIN MCARTHUR

ROCKFIEND PUBLICATIONS SCOTLAND

PETE WAY PHOTOS MB PHOTOGRAPHY SCOTLAND FRIDAY 29 NOVEMBER 2019 Like a lot of the fans at Winterstorm, I was delighted to see Pete Way’s name on the bill and even more thrilled

Slash’, confirmed Pete. ‘I wrote it and Mike Clink, who’s producing, was working on it in LA. Slash and his band were next door – he heard it and he wanted to play on it. I’ve known Slash for years. Nikki Sixx is also on a couple of tracks but he didn’t want to play on that one as Nikki doesn’t do drugs or anything now, neither does Slash’. Pete also confirmed that he does all the singing on the album himself.

Pete was pleased to be back; ‘it’s always a pleasure to play in Scotland’ and of course he reminded me that there had been two Scots in Waysted, including Fin Muir. Even Paul Rees, the co-author of Pete’s excellent biography, lives in Scotland now, on Shetland.

UFO were the first band I ever saw live (Edinburgh Odeon, No Place to Run Tour in 1980) and Pete also had some influence in another area of my life. I explained to him that I had attempted to woo my wife with a mix-tape which included the Waysted song ‘Right From the Start’ and that we had now been married for 33 years. Sadly, Pete could not recall which brown-eyed girl had originally inspired the song but he did offer his congratulations ‘or maybe not’ with a playful grin, as Pete himself has been divorced five times (and has also had a matching number of heart attacks as well as a brush with cancer and some lasting effects from the excesses of the road).

when he agreed to speak with me before the show. Pete was an absolute gentleman throughout and was very generous with his time. The interview might have been even longer if not for a Spinal Tap-style incident in which Pete became trapped in the gents by a faulty lock – I was genuinely worried that he had ‘done an Elvis’ for a while there.

I complimented Pete on his honesty in not pulling any punches or glossing over his addictions in his hard-hitting and, at times, jaw-dropping book. It turns out there were even more stories that were left out. ‘Yeah, that book’s diluted’, explained Pete - ‘there were certain things that would have been unacceptable to say but, then again, we also didn’t want it to sound like The Beano’. It doesn’t! The book actually confirmed something I had feared I might have imagined. I lived in London in the eighties and kept getting flashbacks that I had seen Pete singing ‘Paranoid’ with Ozzy, while Oz was wearing a Green dress and German helmet. It turns out it was true though. ‘Yeah, Ozzy came down to Hammersmith that night with Noddy Holder and Don Powell from Slade and we had a right laugh’ grinned Pete. Pete also confirmed that he would not be playing Bass in his shows as he had ‘been relegated to singing’ by his band. ‘Because I’ve been ill, I couldn’t do 100% vocals and 100% Bass. We have two guitarists, so Jason Poole has either been relegated or promoted to Bass’. The band’s set includes some deep cuts like ‘Might As Well Go Drinking’ from the 2003 ‘The Plot’ album that Pete made with Michael Schenker; ‘Michael asked me if I would like to do it and it was great working with him, but then, I was paying for the studio...’. Pete also revealed that Phil Mogg had urged him to ‘play the UFO stuff’ so there’s usually at least four of their well-loved classics on show to please the crowd. Pete also has a new album due out soon and the song ‘Narcotics’ already features in the set. ‘I did that one with

Pete now lives in Christchurch (‘the posh part of Bournemouth’) where he does a lot of walking. Despite the distance, he does still get to see Aston Villa quite a lot and we finished by expressing our mutual admiration for ‘Super’ John McGinn, who we both agree is ‘absolutely brilliant’. With that, Pete set off to prepare for his set, but not before I asked him to ‘sign my tits’. Not my actual moobs, of course, but rather my old copy of the Waysted mini-album with its very-80s crop top cover. I really enjoyed chatting with Pete – he’s a very engaging and affable character. The stories he shared and those in his book are fabulously entertaining but we should also remember that this is the man who co-wrote some of the greatest rock songs of our generation as well as being one of its most iconic figures. It’s great that he’s still on the scene and I look forward to hearing more of his new music next year. ‘A Fast Ride Out of Here: Confessions of Rock’s Most Dangerous Man’ by Pete Way and Paul Rees is available through Amazon and other outlets and would make a cracking Xmas present. The album, ‘Walking on the Edge’ (featuring Slash & Nikki Sixx) is due to be released in early 2020.

AFFECTATION The Pete Way Effect

“I want Pete to play it the way Pete plays it; not another style.” Michael Schenker

January 6, 2020 | BY LONDA R. MARKS | ROCK LEGEND NEWS

Every 500 years or so someone comes along that wields a type of powerful inspiration that affects artists and their followers. Lorenzo de’ Medici was like that. His affect, his energy, his biophotons and fateful existence affected some of the world’s greatest Renaissance period artists. Still, not many know who Lorenzo de’ Medici was. Yet, still, some of the greatest influence is executed that Lorenzo inspired. Those few artists who are affected enough by that one leader instinctively feel a desire to burn out an extension of that leader, and maybe they are an extension of that leader. About 500 years later, like a spiritual tradition, Pete Way enters. He is one of those rare, uniquely talented artists and leaders whose biophotons ignited the 1970’s rock community influencing and inspiring many artists from then to today; those who instinctively and intuitively know, they are here for historic purposes, and are a reminder that Pete Way fired all cylinders, shook and rocked his peers like few others have, still does, and reinvents himself time and again as if he is his own work of art; well, he is. Nikki Sixx and Steve Harris are just two of those Pete Way emulations in the small but effective circle of today’s “Renaissance” artists affected by Pete Way’s fiery aura, vibrant energy, intuitive frequencies with the universe and unstoppable knowing he has a mission to accomplish — at all costs.

Londa R. Marks founded Pete Way THE Facebook Group January 2015 and is PETE administrator. Pete is legendary bassist and founder of UFO & Waysted, FastWAY way and his own Pete Way Band. The surrealism scene entitled: KISEFFECT Waysted MET was created by Londa. On Pete continued from page 39

The Harlequin character in the right corner of the scene is contemplating an antique French tarot card that says, “La Folie ou L’Alchimiste” : Madness or Alchemist. The other Harlequin character is gazing at dice showing in combined dots 8 & 7; Pete Way’s birthday. The crow symbolizes wisdom and resurrection. After seeing the release of David Bowie Starman Tarot Kit on August 20, 2018, knowing how important David Bowie is to Pete and having developed 13 tarot decks since 1990, Londa was motivated to develop a tarot deck/kit inspired by and dedicated to Pete Way based on his sometimes Harlequin-esque rock style. Londa began ideas for the deck in September 2018. The title is from the street name of Londa’s residence/studio in Firenze, Italy: Via della Spada (Way Of The Sword). Kismet, well, destiny... Rock & Roll Music To The World (2017 Remaster) AMAZON.COM REVIEW Nicholas Tsambassis 4.0 out of 5 stars climax October 16, 2019 Format: Audio CD - Verified Purchase When I first heard a track from this album shortly after its release in 1972, I knew then that I liked Ten Years After and when I got the album for Christmas that year, it sealed the deal. It can rightly be considered the climax of that original incarnation, with the only knock being the tendency of Alvin Lee to recycle riffs in some songs, e.g. “Religion,” “Standing at the Station,” “Tomorrow I’ll Be Out of Town,” and the title song. To be fair, though, it wasn’t really that obvious, and “Standing at the Station” is one of the standout tracks on a consistently strong album. By then the late Mr. Lee had established himself as a “guitar god,” alongside the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page; let’s not forget Carlos Santana. Unfortunately, I was never able to see Ten Years After in concert; I’m sure it would be a cherished memory if I had. Alvin Lee produced a fairly impressive body of solo work after Ten Years After’s breakup, and bandmate Leo Lyons went on to do production work on UFO’s classic early works, showcasing another guitar great, Michael Schenker. In 1989 the original line-up of Ten Years After reformed and released “About Time,” which, though not up to the standard of “Rock and Roll Music to the World,” was a solid effort nonetheless. A Space in Time is the

sixth studio album by the British blues rock band Ten Years After. It was released in August 1971 by Chrysalis Records in the United Kingdom and Columbia Records in America. A departure in style from their previous albums, A Space in Time is less ‘heavy’ than previous albums and includes more acoustic guitar, perhaps influenced by the success of Led Zeppelin who were mixing acoustic songs with heavier numbers. It reached number 17 in the Billboard 200. The third track on the album, “I’d Love to Change the World”, is also their biggest hit. By combining a melodic acoustic chorus with challenging electric guitar riffs, they managed to produce a sound that hit number 10 in the charts in Canada[citation needed] and number 40 in the USA. Although this was their biggest hit, they rarely played it live. “Baby Won’t You Let Me Rock ‘n’ Roll You” also charted in the USA, peaking at number 61. LEO LYONS SAYS: It’s our interpretation of that historic 1969 Woodstock set. What you will hear is exactly how the songs went down with no overdubs. The CD includes three extra TYA classics from that period and two Hundred Seventy Split bonus encore songs ‘The Smoke’ and ‘Do You Wish You Were At Woodstock’, the first written about my move to London in 1960 with Alvin Lee and our band The Jaybirds, and the second about TYA’s performance at Woodstock in 1969. The vinyl version has the long Woodstock set of five songs but the extra five tracks are on the included download card. The new CD and vinyl is available in hard copy from www.hundredseventysplit.com or from the usual stores and download sites. Currently we’re working on a new studio album, so far untitled. Seven songs have been written so far and we expect the release to be early 2020. That’s all for now! See you out there on the road. Regards, Leo.

ROCK LEGEND NEWS FEBRUARY 2020 | BULLETBOYS

ALL ORIGINAL

HOLLYWOOD, CA

The BULLETBOYS began as a collection of talented musicians from high profile bands such as King Kobra and Ratt. Using their credentials, they were able to quickly capture the attention of music fans around the world while front man Marq Torien emerged as one of the most underrated vocalists of the era. The BulletBoys formed in 1988 at the very peak of the Los Angeles glam metal movement. With record companies constantly searching for new talent, they possessed a pedigree that most bands would kill for. Unlike the other glam rockers of the day, the BulletBoys were more hard rock and blues fusion than pure hair metal. Thanks to comparisons to the likes of Aerosmith and especially Van Halen, talent scouts came running and the band quickly received their first major label contract. Over the years, they have dominated both MTV and radio airwaves, and remain relevant to this day in heavy rotation on VH1’s “Metal Mania” and Internet (SiriusXM’s Hair Nation, KNAC. COM, etc.) radio throughout the world!

BulletBoys: Self-Titled Debut Album with hard rock guru Ted Templeman producing, and a deal with a label that

specialized in their brand of hard rock, their self-titled debut was destined to be an instant success. Having previously engineered acts such as Van Halen, Van Morrison, Doobie Borthers, Linda Ronstad, Montrose, David Lee Roth, and other classic bands on his resume, Templeman was viewed as a bona-fide hit maker and became a natural fit for the BulletBoys. The BulletBoys album dropped in 1988 with the driving single “Hard as a Rock” becoming an instant fan favorite. The thumping rock continued with the following hits, “Kissin’ Kitty” and “F#9.” Escaping the trends set by most bands of the era, the BulletBoys opted not to include a power ballad on their album. Instead, they kept the rock and blues coming with the smash hit single “Smooth Up in Ya”. After a successful cover of the classic blues song, “For the Love of Money” The BulletBoys officially established themselves as the leaders of party rock. Following the album’s release, lead singer Marq Torien quickly began drawing comparisons to David Lee Roth and Terrence Trent Darby. Not only did they share similar vocal styles, but Torien brought the crazy energy and showmanship of Diamond Dave and his soulful Motown style vocals to excited, crowed live audiences every night. With the band’s success, they secured a coveted touring spot opening for Bon Jovi, followed by other tours pairing them with Ozzy Osbourne, Cinderella and Living Color, which led to massive headlining gigs. The consistent hits and touring eventually paid off, and vaulted the BulletBoys to platinum status. BulletBoys: Freakshow The long touring schedule kept the BulletBoys from the recording studio for years. The harsh evenings of never-ending shows took a toll on Torien’s voice, forcing him to recuperate before they could complete their second album, 1991’s Freakshow. Keeping the driving hard rock alive and with Marq Torien’s banshee screams in full force, the BulletBoys were officially back. The wave of singles which included “Thrill That Kills,” as well as the MTV video standouts “Hang on St. Christopher” and “Talk to Your Daughter” became popular favorites which could be heard bursting from car stereos all over the country. BulletBoys: Za-Za After another busy tour schedule, the BulletBoys reentered the studio to record Za-Za in 1993. Packed with a wide variety of music that touched on everything from power ballads to party themes, Za-Za featured the popular songs “Laughing with the Dead”, “When Pigs Fly,” and “The Ballad Mind.” Unfortunately, the constant strain of exhaustion and internal strife pulled the group apart, resulting in all of the founding members leaving, except for Marq Torien. The BulletBoys continued to tour and release the albums Acid Monkey and eventually Sofie, surviving throughout the grunge era and outlasting the nu-metal craze. Greatest Hits: Burning Cats and Amputees reunited the BulletBoys’ original superstar lineup temporarily in 2000, to the delight of fans

nationwide. Torien continued to keep the group alive, as the 2007 release Behind the Orange Curtain was well received by critics and fans. BulletBoys: 10c Billionaire In 2009, BulletBoys released 10c Billionaire on Chavis Records, the sixth successful album from the rock warriors. In its first week of sales, the new record burst onto the Billboard Charts at #6 in top Internet sales, signifying Torien’s ability to keep the band alive for over 20 years and surviving throughout the test of time. The group continues to tour in support of 10c Billionaire, and will appear on many of the top music festivals in America during 2010.

Marks, a founder of HAWK July 2016 In the mid 1980’s Ahmet Ertegun, co-founder and president of Atlantic Records was considering signing popular Hollywood, California glam rock band HAWK to Atlantic Records. Just at that time turmoil within the band began and ultimately everything disintegrated due to money issues and personal differences.

HAWK was founded by and sponsored by Londa R. Marks and Doug Marks. HAWK band lineup was Doug Marks (Metal Method guitar instructor, guitarist), Scott Travis (drums, Judas Priest), Lonnie Vencent (bass, BulletBoys & King Kobra), Charles Morrill (vocals). ALBUM REVIEW

ROCK LEGEND NEWS FEBRUARY 2020 | CRASHDIET & ROCKFIEND PUBLICATIONS

Rockfiend Publications Scotland RUST By Crashdiet Created By Peter London

Crashdiet.org/forum | In The Press Rockfiend Publications Scotland Album Review By Iain McArthur (Rockfiend Publications Scotland) (2019-09-04) Original URL: www.facebook.com/rockfiendps

You could never doubt the authenticity of Swedish sleaze-mongers Crashdïet given their backstory filled with chaos, substance abuse and suicide. If ever a band would have been happy sharing a gutter on Sunset Strip with ‪Motley Crue‬ and ‪Skid Row‬ in the eighties it’s these guys. Now, after a 6-year gap, they’re back with a kick-ass 5th album – this time featuring relative newcomer, Gabriel Keyes as their 4th singer. He fits right in and delivers an accomplished and attitude-filled performance throughout Title song ‘Rust’ is the lead track and benefits from a decent promo video. The same goes for ‘Idiots’ – the promo features some clever 80s movie references including the Wayne’s World car scene and the Chris Holmes swimming pool bit from ‘The Decline of Western Civilization II’ - again, these guys would fit right in there. ‘Into the Wild’ is also a standout early track and fairly romps along before an infectious chorus kicks in. So far, so fast and sleazy but the band are also really effective when they dial down the chaos just a bit. ‘Crazy’ is a slightly twisted love song in the style of Reckless Love and ‘Parasite’ is equally catchy. The highlight for me is the introspective semi-ballad ‘In the Maze’. It’s a stunner, featuring poignant lyrics about loss and being lost and features great performances on bass and lead guitar. There’s much to like here including the quirky penultimate track ‘Stop Weirding Me Out’. I was also taken with the cover art by Christel Mentges; I’ve no idea what that’s all about but it will look good on a T shirt. By all accounts, they also deliver a fine live show so check them out. Rust is released by Frontiers on 13 September 2019 Crashdïet tour the UK with Skid Row in early December 2019 IM “Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think Because although eating honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.” ― A.A. NOTE:

Keep in mind, Monero is an alt coin, and more complicated than Bitcoin and not as valuable. Thus, you are more reliant on someone like the record company who knows how to work with Monero if you accept it. You can always trade Bitcoin for Monero but Bitcoin is king. They say Monero is more private than Bitcoin but it is not really. The same for ZCash. Unlike Monero, you can get Zcash at coinbase.com.

What is Bitcoin Halving?

An event that halves the rate at which new Bitcoins are created. It occurs once every four years. As many know, Bitcoin’s (BTC) supply is finite. Once 21 million coins are generated, the network will stop producing more. That is one of the main reasons Bitcoin is often referred to as “digital gold” — just like with the yellow metal, there is only a limited amount in the world, and someday, all of it will have been extracted. Right now, there are around 18 million BTC in circulation, which is roughly 85% of the total cap — but it doesn’t mean that the cryptocurrency is about to reach its limit any time soon. The reason is the protocol, which has been coded into the blockchain from the very start: Every 210,000 blocks, it performs the so-called Bitcoin “halving” or “halvening,” and producing new coins becomes more difficult — just like in gold mining where finding new deposits becomes more challenging over time. More specifically, the protocol cuts the block reward in half. So, every time a Bitcoin halving occurs, miners begin receiving 50% fewer BTC for verifying transactions.

When will the next Bitcoin halving take place? The week commencing 18 May, 2020, based on current performance, but it might be 14 May.

The date is not 100% certain at this point because the time taken to generate new blocks may speed up or slow down. On average, the network produces one block every ten minutes.

The very last halving is expected to occur some time in the year 2140 as the 21-millionth BTC is mined. Once that happens, miners will stop receiving block rewards, but will keep the remaining source of revenue — fees paid by the transactions, which they also collect.

Will the Bitcoin price change?

Historically, the price has gone up following a halving, but it ultimately depends on the supply/demand ratio. Essentially, Bitcoin halving cuts down the supply of BTC, making the asset more scarce. If the demand is there, the price is likely to increase. There are also some historical precedents. On Nov. 28, 2012, the day of Bitcoin’s first halving, the cpryptocurrency’s price rose from $11 to $12, and continued to climb up throughout the next year, reaching $1038 on Nov. 28, 2013. Roughly four years later, a month before the second halving, Bitcoin’s price started to follow a similar, bullish pattern. It surged from $576 on June 9 to $650 on July 9, 2016 — the day the block’s reward was reduced by half for the second time in the asset’s history. Again, BTC continued to accelerate through the next year, albeit with occasional turbulence, and traded at $2526 on 9 July 2017. Will it be the same next time? Skeptics believe that the halving has already been priced in (remember this year’s epic, but short-lived systematic price increase?). Although, there is no scientific way to verify this. Moreover, the industry has drastically changed over the last four years, as cryptocurrencies — and Bitcoin in particular — became an essential part of mainstream news coverage. Still, some people might be tempted to take the chance, especially given the previous patterns exhibited around Bitcoin halvings.

Consequently, if history repeats itself and the Bitcoin price starts going up in April 2020,

even more traders might start buying the asset out of a fear of missing out, thus stimulating the demand, and, ultimately, the price. ___________ Reference: https://cointelegraph.com/explained/bitcoin-halving-explained

Bitcoin Flashes Wyckoff ‘Sign of Strength’ Hinting at New Bull Market MARKETS NEWS | JANUARY 7, 2020 COINTELEGRAPH By William Suberg

Bitcoin price as analyzed using the Wyckoff Method. Source: Murad Mahmudov/ Twitter

Bitcoin (BTC) may have just signaled its return to a bull market, according to fresh analysis using a century-old price prediction method. In a tweet on Jan. 7, ex-Goldman Sachs analyst Murad Mahmudov channeled the work of Richard Wyckoff to suggest Bitcoin was in the process of a major recovery.

BTC puts in Wyckoff “SOS”

BTC/USD cracked resistance at $7,600 on Monday, surprising punters who considered the levels too difficult to pass under current conditions. At press time, the pair traded at $7,875, having reached $7,980 and gaining 5% on the day. Wyckoff was the father of a whole new method of analyzing price performance, dubbed the Wyckoff Method. According to Mahmudov, who uploaded a chart to demonstrate Bitcoin’s position, the largest cryptocurrency has already put in a bottom.

Tuesday’s spike to near $8,000, for example, was an “SOS” point for BTC/USD in Wyckoff terms. SOS stands for “sign of strength,” and typically follows a so-called “spring” event which sees a price low point. After the SOS, a slight retracement called a “back-up” should precede further gains, according to the model.

Accumulation phase ending?

Mahmudov did not comment on the extent to which he personally believed in the validity of the bull scenario, which would reverse a general downtrend for Bitcoin that began in June after reaching nearly $14,000. Following a late October bounce to $9,500, BTC/USD appeared to bottom out at $6,400 in mid-December, but not everyone is convinced that the floor has come and gone. In the run-up to Bitcoin’s block reward halving in May, another historically accurate price model, Stock-to-Flow, calls for a price of around $8,300. Mahmudov is well known for his highly optimistic views on where the Bitcoin price is heading. In August, he said accumulation — also the overarching term for Bitcoin’s current Wyckoff phase — was already happening. “Don’t try to outsmart yourself on short timeframes, zoom out & think big. In my view, BTC is going to $100K per orangecoin,” he summarized at the time.
