Woodstock 50 promoter Michael Lang accused his former business partners of having “illegally swept” $17 million from the festival bank account, and said they were attempting to “suffocate and kill” the anniversary event. Set to take place on the weekend of August 16-18 at Watkins Glen International Speedway in New York, the festival first ran into trouble when tickets were not put on sale as scheduled. Later, financiers Dentsu announced Woodstock 50 had been canceled after they’d backed out, while Lang insisted it would go ahead without them. In the latest round of challenges, Lang – who co-founded the original Woodstock in 1969 – accused Dentsu of several unlawful acts. The company was previously accused of failing to deliver payments. Music crowdfunding platform PledgeMusic is on the verge of bankruptcy after plans to sell the company fell through. The company, which was previously accused of failing to deliver payments to successful artists, announced the news in a letter from co-founder Benji Rogers “AND Bernie Torme and way too many other artists who trusted this company.” —Rock Legend News “I am sorry to say that the sale process that I have been speaking to you about over these last weeks and months for PledgeMusic was unsuccessful and that the buyers have withdrawn,” said Rogers in the letter. The unfulfilled payments meant that musicians who crowdfunded on the platform were unable to deliver the rewards they had promised to fans who pledged money. MARKS ROCK LEGEND NEWS Bernie Torme was scheduled to be Rock Legend News cover/feature in January but I decided to wait until the April issue since it was just after Bernie’s birthday month. Bassist for U.D.O.,Fitty Wienhold was featured in January instead. Bernie was always so nice to me from the first time I found the rare video of Ian Gillan with Bernie: Mr. Universe Promo 1979. It was such an exciting morning to wake up on 24 November, 2014 and watch Bernie at-one with his guitar. I couldn’t believe he hadn’t been more visible, more appreciated. I posted on my Facebook page that day: “It’s always a magical day when the gods bring me something like this. Bernie Torme, where have you been? Ian Gillan kills but this is WTF Killer guitar!!!” Unexpectedly, Bernie responded and almost immediately and liked my posts. I think he said, “Here I am!” Like any Irish Leprechaun, Bernie seemed so filled with energy and passion. From that point on any time I posted anything about Bernie, he always ‘Facebook Liked’ it and wrote a few appreciative messages to me through the years. He was such a humble guy. Well, March arrived and it was time to compile the April issue but Bernie passed away on St. Patrick’s Day, a day before his birthday and it has really taken me aback; has been impossible for me to develop an issue for that pure soul of Bernie. I am far too emotional especially seeing what happened to him with PledgeMusic (do not
deserve the title of music in their name!)… Time; you can certainly be a trickster.

It was the defining moment of Win-
terStorm. If there ever had been a higher reason for an event taking place it was on Saturday 24 November 2018. It was the the moment that Bernie Torme turned backstage from a standing ovation and a whole hall chanting his name. He just looked at me with a slow shaking of his head and tears running from his eyes. He didn’t need to speak, his emotion told it all.
It was a moment that took him by surprise; it was a reaction from an audience that he hadn’t expected, perhaps he’d never expected to receive ever again. He came over and we hugged and we had a wee greet! I think I said something inane like “I’ll
never forget this moment Bernie”; if he replied I think he said something similar. The genuine affection from the WinterStorm audience had an unseen impact on Bernie Torme and that reaction just summed the man up. He had just blown away a loving crowd with a virtuoso and powerful set, a set that by common consent was one of the lasting memories of the weekend. We can count ourselves blessed that we saw Bernie Torme at his very best that day, that one last time we witnessed a guitarist at the peak of his playing.
We shared something special with a special and humble man that day and I know that he took as much away from that afternoon as we all did. Bernie... Bernie... Bernie...

In 2016, sales of music merch hit $3.1 billion, a 10 percent increase from the year before, says the Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association. Retail-analytics group Edited claims that the sheer volume of music-related items on the market has tripled in the past two years. “Music has migrated to being more digital,” says Mat Vlasic, who runs the merch company Bravado, “so fans are craving something physical.” As this new profit center has taken off, artists themselves are getting more involved in day-to-day operations. Taylor Swift and Morrissey opened pop-up stores in the fall, and Iggy Pop made color suggestions for his new line of Billabong board shorts. Recently, Beyoncé and Jared Leto both invested in Sidestep, an app that allows fans to buy concert merch online and pick it up at the venue prior to a show. “Some people like standing in line,” says Jesper Poulsen of the licensing firm Epic Rights. “For me, personally, it’s a buzzkill.”

Deep Purple Began The Long Goodbye Tour in May 2017 DEEP PURPLE But this new leg will be their first trip to the U.S. as sole headliners. They previously performed as part of co-headlining treks with Alice Cooper and Judas Priest. Singer Ian Gillan said they called the tour the Long Goodbye because it doesn’t tie Deep Purple to a fixed retirement date. “A couple of years ago, everyone in the band was unwell,” he explained. “We all had health problems, which have been well documented, and I think somebody – and I can’t remember who said it, probably somebody from the office – said, ‘Do you guys wanna call it a day? Ian Gillan (born 19 August 1945) is an English singer and songwriter. He is the lead singer and lyricist for the rock band Deep Purple.

Initially influenced by Elvis Presley, Gillan started and fronted several local bands in the mid-1960s, and eventually joined Episode Six when their original singer left. After a short time away from the music business, he resumed his music career with solo bands the Ian Gillan Band and Gillan, before a year-long stint as the vocalist for Black Sabbath in 1983. The following year, Deep Purple reformed and two more successful albums followed before he left in 1989. He returned to the group in 1993, and has remained its lead singer ever since. The American rock band Kiss has licensed a large amount of merchandising throughout their career. According to Sandra O’Loughlin in an article for Brandweek magazine, “Kiss has licensed its name to more than 3,000 product categories, from lunch boxes and comic books to credit cards and condoms to become nearly a one-billion-dollar brand.” Kiss have more pieces of merchandise and have generated more money from merchandise, than any other artist in the history of music. Bassist and co-founder Gene Simmons, who has been the most aggressive and ambitious member of the band in seeking merchandising deals, has voiced disregard for the portions of his fan base who disapprove of such merchandising. In his book Sex Money Kiss, he states: “I think it’s cool to see my face on a lunchbox. It’s fun. I’m doing this for me. In 1977 Marvel Comics published a magazine-format full-color comic book presenting the band as superheroes. Blood from each band member was drawn by a registered nurse, witnessed by a notary public, and poured into the vats of red ink used for printing the comic at Marvel’s Borden Ink plant in Depew, New York. Marvel also published a second Kiss comic magazine in 1978, with much less fanfare. In 1997, Image comics began publishing Todd McFarlane’s Kiss: Psycho Circus, a much darker and mystical series than the previous Kiss comics. 31 issues were published between 1997 and 2000. In 2002, Dark Horse comics published a Kiss comic book authored by X-Men writer Joe Casey, which lasted for thirteen issues and ended production in 2004.[5] On January 30, 2007, it was announced that the KISS Com-
ics Group, a joint venture between Platinum Studios and the band, would launch a new comic, “KISS 4K”, with an oversized $50 Destroyer Edition, at the Wizard World Los Angeles Convention in March and with an ongoing series to follow in May by writer Ricky Sprague and artist Kevin Crossley. “KISS 4K” ran for six issues and one special edition issue in 2008. (Wikipedia) Alice in Chains is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1987 by guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell and drummer Sean Kinney, who later recruited bassist Mike Starr and lead vocalist Layne Staley. Starr was replaced by Mike Inez in 1993. William DuVall joined the band in 2006 as co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, replacing Staley, who died in 2002. Tell Studios are located where the band recorded Brave New World and The Book of Souls , according to the latest rumors the album would be almost finished and the official announcement would be imminent. HAWK was a glam metal band which formed in 1984. Doug Marks is the only member to be have been in every line-up of the band. Hawk originally featured lead vocalist Charles Morrill, guitarist Doug Marks, bassist Lonnie Miller (a.k.a Lonnie Vencent), and drummer Scott Travis. This line-up performed the Anywhere There’s Electricity Tour around Southern California. Doug Marks is now a somewhat famous guitar instructor and has a series of guitar instructional videos titled Metal Method. Lonnie Miller Vencent, later played in the bands King Kobra and BulletBoys. Scott Travis is now famous for playing drums for Judas Priest, with which he has played since 1989. Scott Travis played in the bands Racer X and Saints Or Sinners, later known as The Scream, between the time of playing in Hawk and Judas Priest. A later line-up of Hawk featured lead vocalist David Fenfolt, guitarist and bassist Doug Marks, keyboardists Dave Tolley and Steve Ayola, and drummer Matt Sorum. Matt Sorum is now famous for playing in Guns’N’Roses and Velvet Revolver. This line-up released a self-titled album in 1986. Londa R. Marks is a founder of Hawk and all members of the band. Londa’s jobs included finding musicians for the band, image designer, graphic artist, photographer, booking, general manager and choreographer consultant. She was also a co-founder/sponsor of Metal Method Productions, Inc., (MetalMethod.com) now owned by Doug Marks, founded in Van Nuys, CA. William Delbert Gann (June 6, 1878 – June 18, 1955) or WD Gann, was a finance trader who developed the technical analysis methods like the Gann angles and the Master Charts, where the latter is a collective name for his various tools like the Square of Nine, the Hexagon Chart, and the Circle of 360. Gann market forecasting methods are based on geometry, astronomy and astrology, and ancient mathematics. Science teaches that ‘an original impulse of any kind finally resolves itself into a periodic or rhythmical motion; also, just as the pendulum re-
turns again in its swing, just as the moon returns in its orbit, just as the advancing year over brings the rose of spring, so do the properties of the elements periodically recur as the weight of the atoms rises. Science has laid down the principle that the properties of an element are a periodic function of its atomic weight. A famous scientist has stated that ‘we are brought to the conviction that diversity in phenomenal nature in its different kingdoms is most intimately associated with numerical relationship. The numbers are not intermixed accidentally but are subject to regular periodicity. The changes and developments are seen to be in many cases as somewhat odd. Thus, I affirm every class of phenomena, whether in nature or on the stock market, must be subject to the universal law of causation and harmony. Every effect must have an adequate cause. If we wish to avert failure in speculation we must deal with causes. Everything in existence is based on exact proportion and perfect relationship. There is no chance in nature, because mathematical principles of the highest order lie at the foundation of all things. Faraday said, “There is nothing in the universe but mathematical points of force. Vibration is fundamental: nothing is exempt from this law. It is universal, therefore applicable to every class of phenomena on the globe. Thus, to speculate scientifically it is absolutely necessary to follow natural law. Lagarde made her comments in an interview with CNBC on April 10, following a panel devoted to “Money and Payments in the Digital Age,” as part of the 2019 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the IMF in Washington, D.C.
