AT RMP,
I FEEL... AS WE REFLECT ON OUR IMPACT over the past year, we thought it most important to hear from those who know us best—our scholars, staff, and family members. These members of the RMP family make our schools the special places they are, helping us build a rigorous, loving culture where everyone can reach their full potential.
AT RMP, I FEEL CHALLENGED. “I like math and I want to be an astronaut. I want to learn how to go to space. Ever since I was 5, I’ve wanted to go to Jupiter.” —> Javion, second-grade scholar at Rocky Mountain Prep Fletcher
Our
THEORY of
Lead with love.
Our scholars and staff must cultivate strong relationships, build strong character, and celebrate a love of learning to truly be successful.

AT RMP, I FEEL GRATEFUL. After hearing many wonderful things about Rocky Mountain Prep from current parents, Anabelle knew she wanted her son Matthew to attend an RMP school. She was disappointed to learn Matthew would be waitlisted because her family did not live in the Denver Public Schools district. That all changed when she met Christina Castro, RMP Fletcher’s Assistant Principal of Operations, outside her local grocery store. Christina shared that RMP would be expanding and was looking to enroll students at their new campus in Aurora. With much excitement, Anabelle immediately registered Matthew who would go on to become part of the founding prekindergarten class at RMP Fletcher. Anabelle is grateful to know her son is not only receiving the tools to be successful in academics but also to become a man who values perseverance, excellence, adventure, and kindness.
“To have found a school that values people no matter their native language or the color of their skin, is something I know not all families have the opportunity to find. And for that, I feel incredibly lucky.” —> Anabelle Hernandez-Sanchez, mother of Matthew, first-grade scholar at Rocky Mountain Prep Fletcher
AT RMP, I FEEL SUPPORTED IN MY GROWTH. "There aren’t just high expectations for me as a teacher but there are a lot of supports to meet those expectations. The quality of feedback that I get from the educators around me and my coach is really relevant and appropriate to what I need to be doing." —> Monica Figueroa, kindergarten teacher at Rocky Mountain Prep Berkeley Monica Figueroa is a founding kindergarten teacher at RMP Berkeley. Monica has previous teaching experience in special education, so this year came with the challenge of learning the systems of a new school and the opportunity to manage a general education classroom. Through it all, she knows she has grown as an educator as she reflects on feedback from her team and is able to use that feedback to better reach her students.

AT RMP, I FEEL TRANSFORMED. “I’m now not looking at education as a field but more of a passion - for me to connect with students... and learn how to effectively approach them as individuals.” —> Grant Wentzel, teaching fellow at Rocky Mountain Prep Fletcher Grant Wentzel moved across the country to join the Rocky Mountain Prep Fellowship program. He was excited by the prospect of getting his teaching license and master’s degree while working in a classroom. His time in the program has exceeded his expectations and has given him a renewed enthusiasm for teaching.
AT RMP, I FEEL SUCCESSFUL. “I love the community and how diverse it is. I feel included as part of the staff and the RMP team. It feels great—I grow every day, I learn new things every day, and I’m going to learn more, I’m sure!” —> Fana Alemayehu, operations coordinator at Rocky Mountain Prep Creekside Fana Alemayehu has been at RMP since the very beginning. Her son, Michael, was in the first class of kindergartners when RMP Creekside opened in the 2012-13 school year. Since that time, her daughters, Naomi and Addai, have also become RMP scholars. Fana herself has joined the RMP team as an operations coordinator where she works tirelessly to communicate with parents and ensure the school runs smoothly.
