TO DO IN DUBAI SEE THE CITY FROM DIZZY HEIGHTS Located on the 124th floor, the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa – the tallest structure in the world – will certainly allow you to see the city from a different viewpoint – one that’s headspinningly high up! Whether you venture up into the skies during daytime, or after sundown, the panoramic views of Dubai and beyond are breathtaking – and more than a little bit scary! The high speed elevator ride to the top alone is a nail-biting experience, but the fear factor is worth it. Book your visit in advance and you will save on the cost of entry.

SAIL ACROSS DUBAI CREEK Dubai Creek splits the city into two towns – Deira and Bur Dubai – and sailing across the waters on a tourist-converted dhow boat is a must if you wish to explore both sides of the river. There’s also the small wooden ferry – the abra – that can help you get between two of the distinct areas of this full of surprises UAE destination. SKI ON REAL SNOW In Dubai, anything is possible – even skiing on real snow in the height of summer, and in the middle of the desert! Found in the colossal Mall of the Emirates and running at a constant -4 degrees Celsius, Ski Dubai comes complete with chair lifts. Plus all your gear can be hired, so there’s no need to make room in your case. Kids will love the snow park, where they can drift across the snow on inflated inner tubes. There’s even a penguin enclosure, so you can stop by and say hello after you’ve finished perfecting your snow plough. HAGGLE IN THE SOUKS In Deira, you’ll find a maze of souks, including the aromatic Spice Souk, where you can pick up sought after spices like saffron at a fraction of the price back home, and the dazzling Gold Souk, which is the largest gold bazaar in the world and perfect if you’re after a bit of quality bling. DINE OUT AT THE AL-MAHARA RESTAURANT The Burj Al Arab hotel is the tallest hotel in the world, and also one of the most expensive. However, even if you’re not a closet millionaire, you can still experience this jewel of a building by dining in its super-swish Al-Mahara Restaurant, which is surrounded by an aquarium that will make you feel like you’re dining underwater! LAID TABLE AT THE AL-MAHARA RESTAURANT Alternatively, if you have a head for heights, you could always pop upstairs for a quick brew or refreshing cocktail at the Skyview Bar on the 27th floor. KICK BACK ON JUMEIRAH BEACH It’d be a wasted opportunity if you didn’t spend at least one sunny afternoon topping up your tan on the beautiful 14km-long champagnecoloured sandy Jumeirah Beach. MAKE A SPLASH AT ATLANTIS AQUAVENTURE If you’re after some wet and wild thrills and spills, head for Aquaventure – a high-octane waterpark located in the Atlantis The Palm hotel on the manmade Palm Jumeirah Island. TAKE A DESERT SAFARI When you’re in the heart of Dubai, it’s hard to imagine that there’s an expansive desert just beyond the skyscrapers, malls and hotels. Take an open top jeep desert safari and discover the desert for yourself, venturing out over the sand dunes before enjoying an evening in traditional Arabic style. GET LOST IN BASTAKIYA There isn’t much of old Dubai left, but the city’s old town – the 19th century Bastakia Quarter – will transport you back to a time when the modern architectural wonders didn’t exist here. In Bastakia you’ll see some of the more traditional Arabian stonework, including wind towers that were used to air-condition Arabic homes. Enjoy exploring this mini-maze on a journey back in time and seek out a traditional café for a refreshing mint and lime juice. There are also a couple of galleries to peruse, too, including contemporary XVA Gallery and the Majlis Gallery, where you can see authentic Middle Eastern art.

In the morning we head to the Chinese Dragon Mart, an ideal place for all those who really want to go bargain shopping. In the afternoon we will experience the spectacular Dubai desert. Driving through in a 4WD vehicle is simply exciting and adventurous followed by the majestic sand dunes experience on a roller coaster drive for the brave hearts. Another interesting factor is getting to know about the Bedouin settlements and also the camel breeding farms. Upon arrival at the camp we will be greeted with a traditional Arabic Welcome followed by witnessing the beautiful desert sunset from the peak of the dunes. An Arabic coffee; tea or cold drinks are offered to us before we settle down in the camp. Camel rides and sand skiing are also available up till the time we are served a sumptuous BBQ dinner ending up the night with traditional Arabic “Belly Dancing” in the center stage. This full day tour today takes you to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, which situated about 170 km southwest of Dubai. We learn everything there is to know regarding their oil industry – the so called “black gold” – and how it has transformed Abu Dhabi into the wealthy city of today. It also has over 70 restaurants and coffee shops with everything from fast food to themed restaurants and exclusive dining alternatives. In the evening we have organized a dinner cruise.
