155 lb and blanking

As I have only just started to use Rod's bait again, I do not have much to report on testing, as for recipes, etc. I haven't practiced long enough to draw any conclusions. They smell and taste good enough to eat, however, and I am sure it won’t be long before results will speak for themselves. On a more positive note, I am very happy to report on a great result by my son Andrew, on what appears to be an instant success with Rod's Pineapple, Mango and Banana pop ups. We both fished a cancer charity match a few weeks ago in the South of England which was attended by 40 carp anglers over 2 nights and days. We drew for swims on the Thursday night, Andrew drawing a peg which required a cast through a gap in the islands, as the fish all retreated from close in as 40 anglers casted out at once, this obviously gave Andrew an advantage having a distance swim, the cast being approx 110yds after wading out in shallow water for 20yds. But after trying 3 different pop ups from other bait suppliers, he decided to try a pot of pop ups Rod had given him a couple of weeks earlier on a trip to Dolly Mill, being the Pineapple, Mango and Banana . Within 20 mins he was away and caught steadily for the remainder of the match, winning overall with 155lb of carp averaging 15lb. He also lost 10 carp due to the nature of the swim eg, shallow water in front of him and trees in the gap which some carp found. He won a Nash airlite bed system worth £350, needless to say I blanked drawing a poor swim (well, thats my excuse anyway: I did, however, win the blankers trophy as voted for by all the other anglers there!)
