Here on the South coast of England, where I live, is my favourite syndicate lake. I cannot name it or give away the location, as a publicity ban is in place, however the owner of the pit has said I can write and report my catches to yourselves. The pit is approx. 70 acres in size and holds carp to 39.14. It is a relatively young syndicate, and the carp are growing well: a few years ago you used to catch lots of doubles and a handful of 20s, now you catch a lot of 20s with several 30s coming through. During the winter months the lake becomes very hard, as there is a lot of water for the carp to hide in, so I tend to move on to smaller waters during this time. That's why my 1st trip back this spring took place about 3 weeks ago. I fished a large swim which has a private bank up to the left, giving you a lot of water to fish. I baited the swim with Rod's Formula Magic Pellets, Mulberry Florentine and Pineapple, Mango and Banana readymade boilies, along with pigeon mix particles to hopefully keep the many tufted ducks occupied while the carp found my boilies. Nothing happened the 1st night but on the second night at 11pm, just as the air pressure had dropped to 1012, which I find is best and also lower of course, I had a very slow take which resulted in the 1st fish caught from the lake by anyone since 1st Dec 2011! To say i was made up was an understatement. I am strarting to test some more baits shortly, so I will keep all of you informed of my progress. Good luck to you all! Mark
