The bungee effect lead clip By Sebastiaan Schuurman RH Team Benelux
Hello everybody, in this article I would like to talk about how to create an elastic lead clip connection. I know it has been written a lot about bungee rigs and leaders. Especially Steve Renyard inspired me some years ago to try out this system. The big advantage of it is, that you can hook even extremely shy fish. After the hooking the rubber will slip out of the tail rubber which will create a free running system which makes it impossible for the fish to shake off the hook. The system works either if you drop your line or if you throw it out.

You need: HBT030 Safety Clip Green, HBT027 Tail Rubber Green, HBT074 Shock Bead Green, HBT039 Deluxe Noknot Clip, HBSW19 Normal Swivel XXL, a swivel lead, a boilie needle, scissors and a mint green rubber band which you find in the whitefish section of any tackle shop.
We start with the XXl swivel and connect the rubber band with three knots which we pull very tight.

Now take your boilie needle and pass it through the shock bead to the large orifice. Then clamp the rubber band on your boilie needle and pull the elastic through the shock bead so it will be threaded with the large orifice on the side of the swivel. Now place the Deluxe Noknot clip on the other side of the swivel.

Now we need the tail rubber and the safety lead clip. Pull out the pin of the safety lead clip and put it back into the bag so it won’t get lost.
Then take your main line and thread the tail rubber, the lead clip and the shock bead (in this order) and make a four turn grinner knot on the swivel where you connected as well the rubber band.

Push the swivel in the shock bead and pull the main line tight. Stickk the boilie needle through the lead clip and pull the rubber band back through it.
Now connect the swivel lead to the lead clip and cut off the rubber band so that only 4mm will stick out.

Then push the tail rubber over the end of the lead clip but make sure that the rubber band is clamped between them.

The bungee lead clip is now ready for use. See how it works. The rubber allows a certain space of movement for the lead clip on the main line.

I would say give it a try and it will surprise you. This system has helped me in the past years to catch some difficult fish and I know it will do the same for you.
