The Western Mexico is one of the 8 regions of Mexico formed by the states of Jalisco, Colima, Nayarit and Michoacan, it borders in the northern part on Sinaloa, Durango and Zacatecas, in the eastern part on Aguascalientes, Guanajuato and Mexico, in the southern part on Guerrero, and in the western part on the Pacific Ocean. The economy of these four statest represents 9.8 % of the total of the economy in Mexico; the largest economy is from Jalisco, which represents the 64.0 % of the total GDP in the west region. Thanks to the characteristics of the natural environment and its strategic location, this region has a wide variety of productive activities. The main economic activities are industrial activities (mainly textile, footwear, petrochemistry, paper, tequila, sugar, food and fur industry), the forestry (in wich the cedar, oak and pine are used to produce wood and cellulose) and the mining industry (having iron, gold, silver, lead and sulphur reserves). The west of the country has several maritime ports as Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta; likewise, exist on the region nine (9) airports, which three (3) are from national character and six (6) of them are from international character.

CONNECTIVITY & TRANSPORT FLIG HT S The International Airport Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla receives an average of 400 daily flights from 35 national destinations, 27 from USA destinations and 3 from Latinamerican destinations. It receives approximately 19,000 passengers every day and more than 12.8 million every year, from which 10.88 were national passengers and 1.92 were international. Recently, it was extended to provide more connectivity. In the last year, there were a total of 175,029 operations, from which 132,877 were composed by national flights and 42,152 by international flights. Inside the airport, you can find bank services, offices of currency exchange, post office services, restaurants and shops, as well as safe land transportation, like taxis and buses. The average cost of a trip to downtown ranges between 160 and 350 between Mexican pesos by taxi and 10 Mexican pesos using the bus, which goes out every hour.

TR ANSP OR TAT ION Since your arrival in the city, you can find taxis, car, and bus rental companies. The Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara has 16,000 taxis, of which 5,000 are exclusively for tourist services. Car rental service is operated by internationally recognized companies. Leasing companies such as Sixt, National, Avis, Budget, Fox, and Europcar offer their services at the airport before or after arrival. Moving within the city is easy because Guadalajara is very well connected through several main avenues. Along the busiest routes, you can find bus routes, train stations, taxi sites and even the “Macrobus”. Expo Guadalajara is the most dynamic, versatile and important conventions and exhibitions center in of the country and with a projection in Latin America. It is the ideal space to fulfill the requirements of any exhibition, congress or event. It offers 32 halls with the possibility of distribution (57 halls) for all kinds of events; distributed in two levels that include 15 wide accesses to the exhibition floor, functional foyers that allow the traffic of up to 60,000 daily persons, a forum for musical, cultural and social events and an Outdoor Expo for sports events, outdoor exhibitions and concerts. In addition, it has 1,912 parking spaces. The Internet service by Wi-Fi with a bandwidth that goes from 100 Mbps up to 1000 Mbps and capacity to support up to 28,000 competing connections in the forum. The mentioned Internet has administration for event, as well as the control of the access per time and/or connections depending on the flow of the same one. Also it can handle different identifiers of networks. This service can be delivered to level of connection or device and/or for bandwidth, depending on the needs of the event. Expo Guadalajara is the only fairground forum in Mexico with own foundation, result of our commitment with the company. Expo Guadalajara Foundation fulfills two basic aims: to stimulate the social development in Jalisco, and promoting a CSR culture (Corporate Social Responsibility).
