SANTA LUCIA RECITAL HALL ACA DEMIC PROJEC T

UNIVERSITY: Universidad Mayor ROLE: Student LOCATION: Santiago Chile SIZE: 22,500 sq. ft / 35,250 sq ft Santa Lucía Concert Hall is a project born in response to the lack of mid-sized music venues needed to develop Santiago’s music scene. After Rodrigo’s thesis research, the results showed a tendency between large venues with capacities between 6,000 and 13,000 or tiny venues, with capacities between 100 and 600 people. The idea began by designing a space to cover this gap and promote Santiago’s music scene’s growth. With a capacity for 1,800 assistance, the main auditorium was conceived as a flexible space with a multipurpose stage. Santa Lucía Concert Hall also has a recording studio, a rehearsal room, and another stage for more intimate performances in the lounge area, where there’s also a city/view restaurant.

The existing but renovated upper-terrace will be used for outdoor events, generating a pole of cultural attraction and unique entertainment.
