Roedean is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 11 to 18. Established in 1885 and located in Brighton, the school boasts the best of dynamic city life coupled with calming coastal surroundings.

Roedean offers GCSEs in Years 10 to 11, and A-Levels in Years 12 to 13. These are 2 year courses and international students are fully integrated with UK students.

Roedean also offers the One Year GCSE (Academic) course in Year 11 for international students preparing to study A-Levels in Year 12. Girls should be strong academically to access this course. Girls applying for places in Years 7, 9 and 12 are welcome to apply for scholarships. Academic scholarships are available as well as those in Art, Dance, Drama, Music, and Performing Arts. Assessments can be submitted remotely. Scholarships remain with the pupil for the time that they study at Roedean. International Assessments
Our international agents are integral to the Roedean admissions process. Girls join us from across the world and our agents identify those that will thrive at Roedean.

All registrations are made through the OpenApply software. Roedean pays a 10% commission for the first three terms that a pupil studies here. This is paid per term (in arrears) for each girl who joins the school. Agent contracts are established once a pupil’s place has been accepted and the deposit has been paid.

All girls in Years 7 to 10 will complete the following reactive Atom online tests: Maths, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Puzzles and Problem Solving, Creative Comprehension. Girls will also complete a 20 minute paper in English (Years 7 to 9 only) or English Reading Comprehension (Year 10 only).

Applicants for One Year GCSE (Academic) or A-Levels will complete Atom online tests in Non-Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and English Reading Comprehension. In addition there will be a paper based Maths exam, and a 60 minute Humanities paper (depending on the course applied for). All international students will sit a Pearson English test as part of their assessments. Girls applying to study A-Levels or the One Year GCSE (Academic) course should be working at a C1 English Level.
