Name: Ananya Year: 9 House: 2 Ananya has settled into life at Roedean extremely well. She has built up a good group of friends and takes part in many co-curricular activities. She has contributed to several music recitals and school chapels as part of her involvement within string orchestra and the piano trio. The positive comments from all of her teachers reflect just how well she has been applying herself throughout the year. Ananya should be proud of all she has achieved so far this year and I look forward to seeing her continue to flourish during her time at Roedean. Mr Halsey, Tutor and Mathematics Teacher
I have been studying at Roedean for 1 term, and so far I absolutely love it. I am from Mumbai, in India, so it was a long way to come for me, but I cannot say I regret my decision in the slightest. There is a very warm environment that surrounds all us boarders, be it our amazing different nationalities that lead us to bond, or simply the movie nights that we spend together, just enjoying ourselves. This is why I chose Roedean, because it is so diverse and cultural, and allows me to grow up at my own pace. It teaches us all to be more independent, and to learn to look after each other, while always catching us when we fall. I play the cello and am also part of our large school orchestra and many other chamber groups. On the weekends, we have different activities like going to shop in Brighton, or sometimes going ice skating, or to a pottery workshop. The food at school is very good, especially as it caters to all our needs, as many of us are vegans or vegetarians. Overall I really enjoy my time at Roedean, and I am sure that many others will as well, when choosing to study here.
