PEOPLE COME FIRST

Roedean provides a distinctively academic, high-quality, all-round education, within a caring and friendly community in a wonderful coastal setting.

We place student welfare at the heart of school life, and the care that we offer is bespoke and student-centred. Every member of the pastoral team receives advanced Safeguarding training, and we have four Pastoral Managers, each of whom is available to the girls every day for support, advice, encouragement, and care. Our community of day and boarding students allows for an outward-facing, inquisitive, and inclusive culture, and student voice is encouraged and heeded: Roedean students learn that they have the ability and power to bring about positive change.

In discussion they emphasised the importance of kindness, fulfilling the school’s aim that they should develop a generosity of spirit, tolerance, and compassion. ISI Nov21

Pupils are proud to belong, with those who’d found themselves a little lost in the school’s vast corridors in Y7 said they’d been helped by older girls, and now took pride in returning the favour with younger pupils.
