Pupils show an outstanding attitude to learning.

This externally certificated qualification is highly regarded by universities, since the Extended Project requires independent research, analysis, and synthesis, all of which stand students in good stead at undergraduate level. Many students also enter national essay competitions, and they have recently enjoyed success in the Newnham Essay Competitions and the Stephen Spender Poetry Prize.

STEM is a key strength at Roedean. Mathematics is the most popular subject at A Level, and the Sciences are consistently successful – on average, one third of the Year 13 cohort each year leaves the School to study a STEM subject at university.
