Roedean Summer Agent Newsletter

Page 1

We are mid-way through the summer holidays and are enjoying the warmer weather and the slightly quieter time in the Admissions office!

At this point, we would like to share some successes and events from the end of term, as well as some information about the Roedean admissions process.

We are thrilled to announce that Roedean has been awarded the Muddy Stilettos Brilliant Boarding School Award

Roedean has also been shortlisted by the Independent School Magazine for their Independent Boarding School of the Year award.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Just before the end of term, our Key Stage 3 students performed in a wonderful production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with a modern twist. The 400-year-old play was brought to life by a talented cast of Year 7s, 8s and 9s, who impressed everyone with their rendition of Shakespeare’s Elizabethan English.

Opening of the Library

Our newly renovated Library was opened at the start of the Summer Term and the official opening took place on Roedean Day. The design blends the old and the new brilliantly, ensuring that the space feels modern and bright, with laptops to loan, while also retaining a wide collection of books in paper form. The students are thoroughly enjoying this space and it is always a hive of activity!

Roedean Diploma –

An exciting addition to the Roedean curriculum

Junior Diploma: for our Year 7 & 8 students. 14 out of 21 elements must be completed to achieve the award.

From the Autumn Term of 2024, Roedean is excited to introduce the new Roedean Diploma. This brings together the 3 key pillars of a Roedean education: academic, co-curricular and community involvement.

The diploma is designed to recognise and celebrate the impressive array of activities that students take part in during their time at Roedean. The successful completion of a diploma demonstrates commitment, determination and perseverance. They are awarded in the following age categories:

Senior Diploma: for our Year 9, 10 & 11 students. 12 out of 18 elements must be completed to achieve the award.

Sixth Form Diploma: 10 out of 15 elements must be completed to achieve the award.
