FOREST HOUSE Located in Chipinque, in a heavily forested and steep site with a great view of the city of Monterrey Mexico. The request was a summer home for a family where they can escape the city life and emerse into the forest. As this is their second home, the idea was to have minimal dimensions but with the main focus in the social area where most of the time would be spent. The preservation of the natural vegetation and trees was extremely important to the outdoor loving clients. The main concept of this project was to integrate the the indoor and outdoor as much as possible.

The design concept derived from the site itself and the natural beauty that surrounds it. To blend the indoor and outdoor space, the home was built around vegetation located in the middle of the site. Considering the great view the site had of the city towards the south view, the social areas areas and bedrooms have large windows and openings with emphasis on the view. Natural ventilation flows from east to west in the area, the form of the home creates a venturi effect entering from the dinning/kitchen area and exiting from the living room. As there are many animals and insects in the area, the house is elevated from the ground which also cools the home naturally.

The upper floor is composed of the private area of the house which includes 2 bedrooms, a main bedroom, a lobby and a shared deck. Combining the function of both passive cooling with view optimization was very important at the start of the project. Cross ventilation is again applied in this area with high celings to help cool the spaces when needed. The bedrooms have a clear view of the city, utilizing the windows/doors that are used for the cross ventilation.
The deck area utilizes most of the space that the ground floor occupies in the site, therefore the minimal space it required created the maximum space for another social area in the project. Raw materials such as concrete, steel, wood and aluminum create a natural and “Form follows function was an idea that needed to be implemented in the project, as nature is the master of both form and function with incredible beauty.
GOLF CLUB THRESHOLD
The entrance to the golf course is related to the activities carried out within the place as his primary safety function is maintained.
The organic shape blends with the environment by the elements that seem to continue over the entire design. The circulation is simple and fluid for cars, golf carts and pedestrians.

LEARNING CENTER La Fama area requires a space where the public can use basic resources such as libraries, computers, coffee shops, exhibitions and workshops. the project is designed to provide the tools necessary to help increase employment opportunities for residents.
The research conducted for this proyect indicated that the low job rates and education of the residents in the area was the cause of lack in motivation and resources. With that in mind, the design of the proyect creates a feeling of progression and advance in technology. The form of the building resembles a “futuristic machine that will inspire and motivate its workers/occupants.

The library is designed to prioritize learning and eliminate distractions. The books are a focal point in this area, which is why the interior is mostly monochromatic. The furniture and ceiling is made of recycled wood which gives some warmth and comfort to the space and eliminating the “office lighting” effect.
Natural light is distributed in key areas of the proyect where needed and emphasize fuction and utility. This not only helped with energy consumption, but adding another feel to the interioir spaces. Every space has a “warm and cool” areas to fulfill the conforts of the occupants.
LOWER LEVEL
The boardrooms and offices are open to the public. It’s main purpose is to encourage meetings for business, organizations and anything related for work. The ceiling lights compliment the design of the exterior while creating the sense of a working environment.
LUXURY HOME The Luxury home is designed for a family and an elderly woman with a walking disability . The project contains its own offices, waiting rooms and facilities for the medical practices that the owners wish to conduct in their home.
t
The project overlooks all terrain and contains a small independent house especially for the elderly woman. The site has a slope with 5 meter difference between the highest point and the lowest, electric ramp for easy access and transport for the elderly to the guest house.
The design is based on a modern outlook of the landscape elements like the mountians, boulders and rocks. The site is clearly the most important aspect with its incredible views surrounding the project.

NORTH VIEW
A key factor of the house is a tree located aproximately at the center of the site. It was very important to have a clear view of this tree from almost anywhere in the project. The social areas of the house ‘wrap’ around the tree fore a clear view. The large windows not only emphasize the scenary, it also gives a clear view to the elderly woman’s guest home.
