Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre celebrates the return of spring by showcasing over 50 different types of spring flowering bulb on the Bayview campus. This ‘mini-festival’ honours the sacrifices, and preserves the memorable role of the Canadian troops in the liberation of the Netherlands as well as commemorates the birth of Princess Margriet (only royal Dutch person to ever born) in Canada.
These bulbs (Tulips) highlight the symbolic international friendship between Netherlands and Canada, starting with the historic Royal gift of tulips from the Dutch to Canadians immediately following WWII.
