BRIEF : The objective was to design a highway restaurant catering to multiple typologies of dining along with recreational and parking facilities. Capacity - 100 tables SITE : The site was a 120 m x 80 m plot on the northern side of the trichy - thanjavur highway which is also a national highway. SITE INFLUENCE ON THE DESIGN : Since the highway connects different scales of distances it directly translates to multiple typologies of dining facilties in the design. Short distance travellers usually prefer for a quick casual dining whereas their long distance counterparts would require a place to break the travel along with good dining.

SITE PLAN

BRIEF :

The task was to design a multi-speciality maternity wellness center in the heart of trichy city. The hospital should cater to the needs of the outpatient checkups, diagnostics and the inpatient facilities along with food court and landscaped outdoors.

SITE :

The site is a 80 m x 50 m plot on the eastern side of the Anna nagar main road in Trichy city. The 50 m shorter side abutts the road on the west

SITE INFLUENCE :

The Anna nagar main road is one of the major approach roads to trichy and hence the hospital facade gives an impression about the healthcare qualities in the city. Also the site on its backside is completely open with a water channel running. This is a plus point for the design for the private wards and recovery areas, as their basic requirement is a calm and serene environment.

BRIEF : The task was to design an iconic structure which showcases pride and heritage of a particular city and in turn becoming the cultural focus of the whole city. SITE : The city chosen was Rameshwaram, the site chosen for the project was 100 m x 60 m plot next to the sea and nearby to the temple. SITE INFLUENCE ON THE DESIGN : The site’s location near to the temple is a huge positive in crowd pulling and iconisation as most of the floating population of the city converges at the Rameshwaram temple. This is a huge opportunity for the building form to convey the building philosophy.

CONCEPT : -The living room of the residence is the place where most parts of the day are spent by the family. -The presence of the river increases the spatial quality of the living spaces. -Living room at the back side provides an opportunity for the elaborate frontal spaces. -Since the house is designed for a higher class family, A gallery garage, A gathering garden (courtyard) are added according to the needs of the luxurious life of the family.
