ARCHITECTURAL PORTFOLIO ROHIT NILA
Hi, I am Rohit Nila, I am a fourth year undergraduate student from S.B. PATIL COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN, PUNE. My love for the field started with sketching and watching heritage sites and skyscrapers. When I read more about architecture and architects, I was inspired by the people who had a larger view on life, and could see that their works will hold on to generations. I was fascinated by structures and forms and how they could affect us. I am still to learn them from different perspectives. I am a committed individual, I work my best in order to achieve self education, I try to bring out something in my designs that is a reflection of me as well as the age which I am living. I am seeking a opportunity to refine my skill set, it will be very grateful to be a part of your team and learn from you professionally.

MINIMALISM IN DESIGN
SITE CONTEXT •
• •
•
THE PROPOSED SITE FOR THE LIBRARY IS LOCATED IN THE INTERNATIONAL ZONE OF AUROVILLE. THE SITE IS SURROUNDED BY GREENERY AND CONSISTS OF DENSE VEGETATION. THE SURROUNDING AREA DOES NOT CONSIST OF ANY HIGH-RISE STRUCTURES DUE TO THE RESTRICTION OF THE HEIGHT. THE SITE IS BEST SUITABLE FOR A LIBRARY SINCE IT HAS A PEACEFUL SURROUNDING.
The concept of minimalist architecture is to strip everything down to its essential quality and achieve simplicity. The idea is not completely without ornamentation, but that all parts, details, and joinery are considered as reduced to a stage where no one can remove anything further to improve the design. Minimalist architects not only consider the physical qualities of the building. They consider the spiritual dimension and the invisible, by listening to the figure and paying attention to details, people, space, nature, and materials.

ASSISTED HOUSING “Everything is designed. Few things are designed well.” – BRIAN REED
ASSISTED HOUSING
11
The need right now is interdependence. As people age they require physical and emotional support. The younger generation requires help as they go about starting their lives. In addition, the third generation needs to experience the love and warmth of grandparents. How then, does one design for three age groups? Each one wants and needs the other but also desires privacy/space to feel independent. In short, everyone needs assistance of some sort, be it physical, mental or emotional.
Can we, as responsible and sensitive space planners solve this dilemma? Can we give people the best of both worlds? YES !
