The Marvellous Water-Power ed Lifting Device

Roll up Roll up.... Marvel at our water ed-power ed lifting platform. This extraor dinary device takes the elements of the Alde landscape - wind and water - and utilises their power to raise visitors to a vantage point. Using widely available and inexpensive mater ials scaffolding and agr icultural mechan isms - our contraption operates without the need of newfangled electr icity. All childr en, r egar dless of physical abilities will take the gr eatest of pleasur e in r iding our lifting platform. The device draws water from a specially cr eated pond, r eplen ished by the water table and pumped by an agr icultural windmill. Sufficient water is stor ed for five liftings of the device on a calm day (and which may be topped up by an alter natively power ed pump). The operator opens a stopcock, r eleasing sufficient water to tip the balance and raise the platform. The motion is damped by means of a concealed cylinder . Locking devices secur e and open the gates dur ing the r ide. Up to Four Childr en at one time may be lifted to enjoy the view and descend via the slide, steps, or r etur n on the platform. The device is r eadily dismantled for use in another location wher e wind and water ar e plentiful.
