Hey AIESEC, This is the most inspirational greeting I have ever been privileged to use. The very first time I said it was three weeks into my AIESEC experience when I represented my team in an LCM update. As mundane as it may seem, this greeting came with a responsibility; a force of representation. When I was saying those two words awaiting the most heartwarming reply I felt as though I was the omega of my team. I felt as though all rested on me. After my warmly welcomed yet average update I felt very proud. I felt as though I had made my team proud and had voiced all of our toils to the crowd. After that day responsibility in AIESEC came as more of an addiction. If you are in the process of deciding to apply for LCP, it would mean you share my addiction and the addictions of my predecessors. You see, responsibilities in AIESEC are very similar. The ‘Hey AIESEC’ greeting holds in itself the weight of the responsibility that an LCP role holds. Not believable? Well think of the first time you said ‘Hey AIESEC’ in front of an AIESEC crowd? How nervous did that make you? Now as you are used to it, it comes naturally. So does any role and responsibility in AIESEC. Our love for AIESEC and our decision to take a risk and jump into a responsibility makes applying for LCP and saying ‘Hey AIESEC’ similar. After reading this imagine you are on the stage ready to say ‘Hey AIESEC’. Think of all the members you are going to represent. Three, two, one… Abel Gemechis Mamo President of AIESEC in AAU

AIESEC in AAU is an LC that has recently been gaining recognition from the AIESEC network. AIESEC AAU has won the best exchange percentage in the East African region and the best in TMP/TLP delivery in East Africa at PIONEERS congress in Kenya in the term 13/14. During January 2015, AIESEC AAU organized the first conference at an LC level and the first stakeholders’ dinner in the history of AIESEC in Ethiopia. AIESEC AAU is currently the only full member LC in AIESEC in Ethiopia. AIESEC AAU also had a debt at the beginning of 13/14 and a lot of challenges both in the front and back office and some of these challenges still exist in the term 14/15, but we have overcome most of them and still made AIESEC AAU the strongest LC in the country.
