Students and other alumni are invited to learn about service in the Peace Corps through this group’s stories. Cornell Fine Arts Museum Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday, Noon – 5 p.m. Admission: Complimentary March 25-27 for alumni with Reunion wristband The Edge of Vision: Abstraction in Contemporary Photography Exploring the value of photographs in today’s visual culture, this exhibit features photographs and photo-based installations many of which are on display for the first time. Some of the themes being explored include pattern and optical uncertainty, our culture of images, and recording the action of light without the benefits or limits of a lens. Piety and Magnificence: Themes in Italian Art circa 1300-1750 Conceptualized as a progressive educational experiment in conjunction with the Department of Art and Art History at Rollins College, this show intends to reintroduce CFAM as a teaching museum of note. Some of the Cornell’s most treasured masterpieces will be on display, featuring a selection of works ranging from the Italian Renaissance to the mid-18th century.

Remix 2 The photography show will include “How to Hunt” and “Strude” by Nicolai Howalt and Trine Søndergaard. “How to Hunt” symbolizes the relationship between humans and nature and examines the hunt as a classical art theme. “Strude” is the name of a mask-like garment worn by women on the Danish island of Fano. The piece explores the island’s culture and how folk costume can communicate cultural meaning and codes. Led by Bruce A. Beal Director Scott Habes and Intern Kellyn Biella, this exhibit also explores themes in African American art through the work of Chakaia Booker.
