Being a young child brings with it a whole host of toys which will be given out left, right and centre. After Christmas and birthdays you will probably not be able to see an empty bit of space in their bedroom, yet it happens time and time again. No matter what they receive there is usually one special toy that will stand the test of time. One toy which I can remember from my younger days, and which I know was around for years before me, was a fashion wheel. I came across the words fashion wheel one day and it did not instantly click in my mind what it was. However, as soon as one component of it was mentioned it all came flooding back to me. I remembered just how amazing they were! I am not much of a fashion conscious person myself and I certainly was not when I was younger, but this simple toy kept me engrossed and entertained for hours on end. If you have never played with a fashion wheel when you were younger, then you seriously missed out! If you are thinking the name rings a bell, or even not, as soon as I describe it you will remember it. It was a simple wheel that was split horizontally into four sections. These sections consisted of heads, torsos, legs and feet. For example in the torso section there was a number of different styles to choose from such as vest, t-shirt, jumper etc. and all of the other sections featured various items. You then moved each section of the wheel to create a look that you liked and you could then colour in over the top of it and it would leave the design of the person you have dressed onto a piece of paper, genius. This may sound boring to some when written down but when you have a go and think of all of the different clothing and face combinations that you can make, with the number of colours you can go over the top of them with, it provides hours of fun and countless creations. If you look into your wardrobe today and think of your routine when getting dressed into different outfits, you are basically just living the fashion wheel in real life. It would be a lot more fun if we actually had our clothes out on a big wheel and could just spin it to mix and match outfits together! It would certainly free up your mornings.
