Forthcoming monthly meeting presentations Date Presentation 18th May Annual General meeting followed by; Lauren Griffiths - Tools for Self Reliance
This Totton charity empowers Africans living in extreme poverty to create their own livelihoods. The tool kits sent out are used in skills training centres, offering trainees a way to begin their own sustainable careers and leave poverty behind. 15th June Romsey and District u3a member, Mike Driscoll, will share an insight into his 'Life as a Snapper'. Mike will walk us through his adventures as an amateur photographer and pass on his tips for getting better snaps from your camera or mobile phone.

20th July Paul Whittle: 'Slow train to Damascus'. This will take us to Petra, the Dead Sea, Roman cities and on a rare desert train ride on the Turkish built Hedjaz Railway which was wrecked by Lawrence of Arabia in WWI. Paul will also provide a look at the ancient city of Damascus shortly before the catastrophic civil war
17th August The speaker this month is Malcolm Calvert . Malcolm will tell us about the history of ‘Tai Chi and Chi Kung’ and give us a demonstration in which audience participation is encouraged! Malcolm will explain how it helps our physical health as we reach our 3rd Age.

19th October Be prepared to be surprised by this talk by Tony Babb: 'The Amazing Animals of World War One.' Tony's talk will probably change your views on how animals were treated in the war to end all wars. Listen to the heart-warming insight into the special roles of 24 different animals. Woven into the story is the relationship of care and love between man and animal
