My Final proposal
Illustrated sections from different historical horror poems; 1. Finding Historical horror poetry's & stories is weirdly hard. 2.Don’t know if this is really where I want the project to go but I’ll keep investigating where this can go. 3. Think I’ll move away form historical horror poetry and look at horror folktales, probably from medieval times and definitely European (cause of aesthetics). The stories tend to be social commentaries for what was going on at that time giving the illustrations better depth and context.

The Marksman – a German Folklore tale from the Gespensterbuch or Book of Ghost. I started creating the character concept of the marksman . Focusing on shape and exaggeration of the form. However after being critiqued by a fellow illustrator on the design and balance of the figure I have decided that I am going to refresh myself on the structure and anatomy of the human form through a series of still life figure drawings before I do anymore exaggerated character designs.
A Selection of Secondary and Primary Drawings I’ve done of the Human figure
Tutor Critique Started to move away from written folklore representing certain social events and started to look at historical events that could be turned into horror tales with visuals. Found out about that Syphilis ravaged Italy in 15th century causing people to be wondering through Venice and such with pieces of their faces missing Ben has been very positive towards my work so far and encourages me to start developing some of my characters further while maintaining energy within them. I’m going to take the image on the right and see how far I can go with it.
