Creation Of the Presentation
In the creation of the presentation decided that the first thing that needed to be sorted out was what and how we wanted to present. As well as what each of our roles would be in the gathering and delivering of information within the presentation. We decided that each person would focus on there initial points of research which we initially hashed out via our online chat board.
When Creating out ‘ About us’ We thought it would be reflective of us a group with humours personalities to create a fake news screens introducing us as these alternate universe news anchors that are so done with trying to explain the news. The set up was created to break tension in the room if any and make people feel more relaxed and friendly when.
I said it would be best if we all chose a subject to illustrate as then it gave the audience we pitched to a better idea visually of what we were about. Janice made us a template to see what it would look like in said newspaper, we added them to it. I looked at Islamic veils and did a brief mock up of a timeline, which looks at historically important Islamic women. As a lot of people don’t know the how big of an impact Muslim women have had on building the foundations of modern day society.
It was important for us that the initial pitch presentation reflected the brand so we decided that there would be minimal type on each slide and that the slides would centre on an image based ideal.  After looking back on sessions that were had with Patrick and John, one big thing they kept on reiterating was that too much text on a screen means they’re focusing on the screen rather than you.
I focused on financing and the importance of location. Using previous research I found and the understanding that Leeds has a strong transport links via airport, trains and coaches meaning setting up meeting would be a lot easier, and its location as part of the northern powerhouse makes it easier to keep up to date with contacts. The costing of buying the ink, printer and materials to start printing are own newspaper personally was around ÂŁ15000. So I focused more on out sourcing our product to a company like Newspaper Club that prints batches either digital or traditional newspaper print. Â Both financially for the business and ourselves I thought it would be smarter for us to all go part times. Â After Discussing with Janice we believed the best course of action would be to look towards and initial crowd funding to help get us started along with a advertisements from multiple companies to keep us going initially. Janice focused more on the accumulation of money.
