Current urban layout of Keelung separates the function of city, the commercial area block the connection of residential and open space. The mixture uses of superblock need to be a connection of the city.
In old city layout, each block only plays one single role in a large area. We propose the superblock to make Keelung city a large combined block with multi-function, connecting retails, shopping mall, hotels, plaza, residential, office, art galleries, museum, theater, inserting new traffic system including roads, the bicycle route, the canal for waterbus and pedestrian sidewalks. The waste of consuming inside the superblock will be recycle and become the energy for other activities so that the energy can be used more efficiently.
Keelung city lacks of green space, and the open space is not so available for people. There is no enough space for big events and gathering. The bay area also provides a potential for the future superblock to create open space for the city.
The traffic system of Keelung lacks of organization. There is no safe and enough space for people walking around. The city has not taken advantage of the coast of the sea.

To create an energy exchanging system, we set the tower as a center of energy conversion, all the waste will return to here and regenerate as the new energy for every buildings is this block. We have sun, sea, wind and rainfall as source from natural environment. Rainfall will be collected as an irrigation for agriculture. Salt which extracted from sea as commodity to earn money. The sun will provide electricity. And the waste from people who live in this block can be converted into biomass.

In this superblock, we insert the residential area connecting with retails and commercial space. For local people, they can buy conveniently. For tourism, the port area has domestic terminal and international terminal, to attract more people from Taiwan and most eastern and southeastern Asian countries. In addition, we planned a light rail to extend the transportation for the people who live by the other side. Across the block, there is canal for inner superblock additional traffic system, not only attracting tourists but also creating a new life style.

Virtical Night Market
[
Concept In city, most of the building is giant and solid, however, night market is trying to deconstruct the giant one and separate it into parts.
Giant Buidling
In night market culture, it is hard to define the origin of each kinds of food and culture, which makes night market become a big container to melt different culture.
Site: Qian Yue Building(千越) Culture Shock
High Speed
Master Plan Concept: Super Block ‘Super Block System’ builds on the heritage of the old Block system and takes it to a new level to bring communities and urban life back to downtown. The system reorganizes traffic in the area to assure a balanced coexistence of cars, motorbikes and pedestrian traffic. Flexibility is achieved without substantial physical changes: most of the traffic will flow between the Superblocks, while the traffic inside will be slowed down. In weekends the Superblocks will be closed down and fully open to pedestrian traffic. Each large Superblock will have a specific activity, such as flower market, fish market, handcraft market, performance and entertainment, which will give them certain unique identity. The space will be retaken by the public for a short time every week for new activities attractive not only for inhabitants but also for other visitors. In this way, Superblock does not erase the past, rather the contrary: takes advantage of the possibilities of our time (using apps and constant flow of information in our time as a tool of urban restructuring and regeneration) and builds upon the existing heritage to accomplish a new urban experience and more livable City Center in Taichung City.
Concept
The site is very near to Taiwan Blvd., which is high speed and oriented road. Night market can slow down people walking and blur the specific direction of moving so that it will come with more activities and behavior. Second handcrafts Market

Simulation
Through the research about Feng Chia Night Market, I got some parameter to re-generate a new form for vertical night market. Firstly, I collected the points which represent the people positions remapping the path of how people moving. Then, get the linear regression to evaluate the weight of different behavior, including align, avoid align, separation, cohesion, and avoid cohesion.

Rebuild the volumn for more intimate space and good view
In this simulation, it takes out one of the agents, drawing the path it walking by. It can show us how agent working in this environment and change the form. The more near the path, the smaller the boxes, so that the building can provide more view and open space for people gathering and activities in the vertical night market. Building Boundary Agent Path

臺中大河里福德祠
Temple - Urbanization
基地位于 水湳經貿園區 的最南端。它將 成爲未來臺中 中央公園的南 大門。
早期的人 口集聚來源於 廟宇。而城市的 興起,斬斷了這 種聯係,廟宇逐 漸邊緣化。
The Earth God Temple was the triggle of people gathering, however in the progress of urbanization, the city cut off this connection.
The site is located in the south of the Taichung Gateway Park.
Site
Current
舊有的廟宇是 水平延伸的。城市的 介入,使得都市用 地減少。廟宇空間產 生垂直向變化,并 產生内向聚合空間。
The space of Temple is horizontal. However the intervention of city changes the space into a vertical direction. I think the phenomena of urbanization is verticalization and multi-function, against to horizontal development and single function.

Envolope
[The roof will be built by woods, and it has horizontal extension responding to the traditional roof.]
[In Chinese myth, the gods will hide in the mountain, so the circulation will make people feel like walk in the small mountain. ] [The envolope will separate from structure so that the relationship between human and god will be transparent and close.]
Open Space
[The temple will spare some room from urban for neighbors so that they can chat, read and play here.]

Rebuilding Shan-shui
[ Background ]
The paiting “Waiting for the Ferry on an Autumn River” (秋江待渡圖)drawn by Qiu Ying(仇英)who was one of the famous Chinese painter in Ming dynasty. The painting was separated into two parts and sold to different collecters. However, the themes of the two parts are the same what is about waiting and going across river. The artist tried to combine two different paints by the river. In Chinese painting, water often can become the clue of circulationand lead the reader into the context of the painting.
[
Prototype
]
TYPE 1 Try to create a pond in a flat ground. Then, the two different surface will be connected by the circulation through the water.
TYPE 2 Create smooth terrace and the sink will become the pond, and the bottom of the pond will be transparent so that people can feel the water and shadow under the ground.
TYPE 3 Make more ramp and mountain-like surface, so the speed of the water will change, so here comes the falls and streams.
[
Concept
]
It has villa for temporary tourists and housing for artists which have good view of both mountain and water.
LAYER 1 : Above Water It has temporary flowing markets and small theater in the small islands in the water. It also created circulation through the bottom of water and the top so that people can go out from the middle of the water.
LAYER 2 : In Water
It has studios for artists under the water so the artists will have a totally different expirience of space which is about rebuilding sky and earth.
LAYER 3 : Under Water
[ STEP 1
Create cells for artists which is mainly for working.
Market/Theater
Grid Beam

[ Background ]
STEP 1
STEP 2
Define the spaces for architect’s home and the office.
After analysis of the site and getting the rotated axises, then the space follows the axies.
STEP 3
STEP 4
Creat a circle garden, firstly, it is the clue of the rotation of axises. secondly, I will plant a sakura to blur the boundary between home and office, to creat a buffer zone. Besides, I hope the relationship between architect and clients is more intimate so that they can chat under the sakura.
Try to re-shape the interior boundaries of the home and office, and let the circle reflect on them. I think the Chinese garden have transparency instead of solid wall. So, the interior space have circular sectors shape of space which is created by bookshelves and stairs.

Roji Pavillion(TTT Workshop)
[ Concept Design ]
In the progress of urbanization of Tokyo, Roji, which is a kind of vernacular type of architecut in Japan, is under threats of modern architecture. How to strike a balance between the high and the short, noise and quiet, modernism and tradition becomes a severe issue. We use the plug-in concept, and hope the pavillion will provide structure for surroundings, then neighbors can plug in some plants, books as their wish which can strenghthen the neighborhood. In the meanwhile, as the rising of structure, there will be a communication between the lower and the higher. Finally, we hope the roji will go into the high-rising building so that tradition can plug into the modern life to survive and create more possibility.
