Background Over the last 15 years, Snostop systems have been supplied to over 5,000 projects. SnoStop is the No. 1 engineered system for commercial applications in Canada offering both penetrating and non-penetrating systems to withstand any snow load conditions. Snostop engineered snow guard systems are designed both for effectiveness and good aesthetics. Major accounts include government, industrial, institutional, and large corporations such as Loblaws, Canadian Tire and Wal-Mart. SnoStop Plus is a new line of polycarbonate snow guards. This engineered system offers a heat cable option to help control ice problems found on many roofs. SnoStop Plus snow guards are quick and easy to install on any roof type.

Snostop Plus strongly recommends installation by a qualified roofing contractor who has appropriate knowledge and experience
ii) The buyer is responsible for verifying that the roofing structure can support additional snow loads and for following these instructions carefully to ensure proper set-up iii) Snostop Plus does not warrant misapplication of the product, failure of adhesives, or installation of defective snow guards iv) If at any time the Snostop Plus units are supporting extreme snow load conditions, the snow should be removed from the roof v) Roofers World and its distributors are under no liability if failure occurs from improper installation, improper screw installation, improper panel attachment, improper roof system installation, improper use of Snostop system or under design of the Snostop system
Precautions i)
Ensure the roof surface and Snostop Plus base units are clean and completely dry before installing.
ii) Ensure the Snostop Plus attachment head is securely clamped into the base before installing iii) Verify all panels are attached firmly to the roofing structure iv) Confirm the roof structure is designed to support the additional snow load created by using snow guards v) Ensure the appropriate quantity and spacing of Snostop Plus snow guards are used according to roof pitch.

USAGE AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS SLATE/SHINGLE SET-UP These are the layout recommendations for Snostop Plus installation on residential slate and shingle roof types – based on the average rafter length of 20 to 25 feet. Recommended adhesives are Surebond SB-190 or equivalent exterior grade construction adhesive for plastic and metal surfaces. 1. Find the ideal spacing for Snostop Plus based on your roof pitch. See Figures 1 & 2. 2. Start the first row 2 feet to the left of area you wish to cover (a doorway, garage, deck etc.) and finish the row 2 feet to the right. 3. Before installation, ensure the head and base of Snostop Plus are securely fastened together 4. Apply exterior grade sealant/caulking (according to manufacturer’s instructions) generously and evenly to the base of Snostop Plus 5. Face the “stop sign” toward the roof peak, perpendicular to the eave. 6. Fasten to roof structure with two #14 stainless steel screws (2” to 2.5” length) with neoprene washers 7. After fastening to roof, seal around entire base of the snow guard with additional sealant

USAGE AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS METAL ROOF INSTALLATION These are the layout recommendations for Snostop Plus installation on residential metal roof types – based on the average rafter length of 20 to 25 feet. Recommended adhesives are Surebond SB-190 or equivalent exterior grade construction adhesive for plastic and metal surfaces. 1. Find the ideal spacing for Snostop Plus based on the roof pitch. See Figures 3 &4. 2. Start the first row 2 feet to the left of area you wish to cover (a doorway, garage, deck etc.) and finish the row 2 feet to the right. 3. Clean the roof surface with soap and water. Ensure there is no leftover residue from the soap and the surface is dry before installing the snow guards. 4. Before installing Snostop Plus, ensure the head and base are securely fastened together 5. Apply clear adhesive (according to manufacturer’s instructions) generously and evenly to the Snostop Plus base. For galvanized or galvalume roofs use non-acetic acid adhesive 6. Press Snostop Plus for an air tight seal onto the roof with the “stop sign” facing the roof peak (some adhesive may extend out the sides) 7. Optional: Use two #14 stainless steel screws (2” to 2 ½“ length) with neoprene washers to secure the Snostop Plus into the roof structure 8. Seal around the entire base of the snow guard with additional adhesive
