Electric Radiators

SunRay Electric oil filled radiators are manufactured from individually cast Aluminium elements and filled with a very high quality Thermic Emission oil. During manufacture the panels (elements) of the radiators are individually powdercoated with polymerised epoxy resin which ensures first class corrosion resistance and gives the overall radiator a flawless finish. The panels are then joined together to make up the radiator using a unique patented elastic silicone joint between each panel; this ensures total sealing during the life of the radiator. Every radiator is then pressure tested and visually checked for blemishes. Guaranteeing Long Life and a Minimum Guarantee of 10 Years.

Sun Ray Plus REMOTE CONTROL UNIT This is ideal for the installation of a complete electric heating system. The radiator can be easily programmed through the optional Remote Digital Controller. The controller has six programmes, three of which are factory set and three that allow the installer to customise up to three programmes to suit the user’s needs.

Residential Apartments Case Study BACKGROUND This new development of residential apartments on Gardiner Street, Dublin are in two joined buildings, one of five and the other seven storeys with communal facilities. There are also 3 new retail units on the ground floor fronting on to Gardiner Street. Onsite facilities include car parking and landscaped gardens complete with new street railings. The linked buildings of this scheme face busy city streets and are planned around a sunny internal courtyard. The apartments are devoted to homes for elderly residents, each with a living room and generous balcony, opening to the central garden. The Building Energy Rating (BER) of the dwellings are rated B1 – A3. Fr. Scully House, Dublin

THE PROJECT The Developer of the project wanted to look at options to heat the communal areas of the building. ATC were contacted by an Electrical Wholesaler to provide their proposal for an energy efficient heating solution for this project. One of the main requirements for the development was to reduce the amount of electrical load on a previously specified heating system and to ensure that the efficiency of the development would give maximum comfort to the residents. An ATC Technical representative met with the electrical contractor on site to assess and review the project. He received the drawings and relevant information to allow him to come back with a proposal.

CONSULTANT APPROVAL The following week ATC made a presentation to the contractor outlining the proposed size and location of the Sun Ray Radiators to heat the common areas including corridors and hallways. The presentation included a detailed Energy Cost Report outlining the projected energy costs over twelve months against specific parameters. ATC was able to show that by using ATC Sun Ray Radiators that this system could provide the building occupiers a modern energy efficient electrical heating solution and also save them money over the course of the year. This proposal had to be approved by the Consulting Engineers for the project J.V. Tierney. The proposal was submitted to them for their review and approval. We are pleased to confirm that the heating system was approved for use throughout the scheme in all the common areas. There are 65 of the 1500W Sun Ray Plus Heaters and 11 of the 1800W Sun Ray Plus Heaters in the common areas of the development. In addition to the Sun Ray Plus Heaters used in Father Scully House there is also 138m² of ATC Ecofloor underfloor heating mats and floor insulation used in the lift lobbies in the development. Sun Ray Venus DIGITAL COLUMN ELECTRIC RADIATOR The Venus electric oil filled radiator is digitally controlled. The radiator has 3 preset programs integrated and one programmable option available. The shape of the Venus allows most of the heat produced to be distributed by convection. This, coupled with the large surface area, makes the Venus an impressively effective radiator. The Venus is an electric heat transfer fluid radiator so it absorbs energy quickly and then slowly and gently disperses heat around the room. It mounts vertically so it’s ideal for areas where space is an issue. It is controlled by a Triac thermostat which is accurate to 0.5C and virtually silent during operation. The Venus has a digital control panel, an LCD display and is supplied fully packaged with wall mounting brackets and remote control.

Made from hardwearing lightweight aluminum, it is finished in Black Sable. The radiator has 3 preset programs integrated and one programmable option available.
