Select the size of your basin Take stock of the size of your bathroom, considering floor space and unit placement. If space is tight, you might benefit from a smaller wall-hung option or even a compact cloakroom option. There are four wall mounted options in 500, 600, 800 and 1200mm widths as well as a 500mm freestanding unit. For a smaller cloakroom or ensuite solution we have a 400mm wide unit, which will fit perfectly.

Your finish options Create an artful bathroom with a finish that sets the tone for rest, ritual and relaxation. Carefully considered, each of our six finish options adds a depth and interest that complements the simple styling of Cadence. Available in lustrous gloss or minimal matt finishes, our colour selection ranges from neutral gloss white or light grey, to deep and sophisticated oxford blue or storm grey. And for those seeking something more unique, look no further than our cool gloss spruce, or natural tundra wood.

Useful storage box solutions Further personalise your unit and declutter your space by adding Cadence solid wood storage boxes to your drawers. Incredibly useful, with five storage box styles including an L-shaped design with optional additional lids. Either choose one of the suggested configurations to fit your unit, or select your own mix to best suit your storage needs.

Choosing your basin style Define the look of your unit with either a ceramic or Isocast basin. Available in 400, 500, 600, or 800 widths, a ceramic basin offers a streamlined shape cast from a timeless, traditional material. An Isocast basin has a clean, precise, low profile design. Available in 500, 600, 800 sizes, as well as a statement-making 1200mm ‘his and hers’ basin.

Handle choices Create a vanity as beautiful as it is functional with your choice from the extensive Cadence handle collection. Keep the whole look minimalist by using chrome or black drawer top handles or opt for a practical wide front-fixed pull option for a fresh take on the industrial look. A matt black handle option will add interest to create a highly personalised vanity. Undrilled drawer fronts allow you to position the handles where you wish, though we think a third of the drawer height down from the top looks good.

Add lighting for the perfect finishing touch For the perfect finishing touch, light up your Cadence unit with an elegant lighting kit. The kit lights up the drawer to help you find what you need, or add one of our new Cadence mirrors. Easy to use and operated by simply touching the side of the unit, this sensor is discreetly hidden from sight.

01 UNDERSTAND YOUR SPACE Make sure you get a feel for your bathroom layout before you start. Look at any wasted areas which could be maximised with the addition of storage units. It is advisable to install a WC unit in a similar position to the current WC to minimise installation costs. If you do want to change the layout of your bathroom, a good Tavistock bathroom retailer will be able to guide you through the planning process.

04 COMPLETE YOUR BATHROOM Complete the design of your new bathroom by choosing from our collection of stylish basins & WCs as well as coordinating brassware, elegant mirrors & useful cabinets. See pages 142 - 319 for options.

02 CHOOSE YOUR BATHROOM STYLE & FINISH We have two stunning furniture styles to choose from, classic Legacy or sleek contemporary Calm. Legacy is available in 4 finishes, whilst Calm offers 5 options, see pages 100 - 125 for further details. All our Legacy units come with an oak internal carcass, while Calm furniture features a graphite internal finish (with the exception of gloss white finish which features a white carcass). All have been specifically chosen to complement the furniture style.

The most important choice when determining the look of your bathroom is door style and finish. Choose from the classic shaker style of Legacy or the ultra-modern simplicity of Calm slab style doors. Legacy is available in 4 finishes, whilst Calm offers 5 options. All Legacy door styles come complete with oak carcasses. Calm door styles feature a graphite carcass (except for gloss white which has a white carcass).

Consider the available space in your bathroom and choose from either standard depth (353mm) or space-saving slim depth (218mm) units. Establish how you use your space and plan your design accordingly; whether yours is a personal retreat or a room for all the family, you can combine sizes to suit your needs and maximise the space in your bathroom.

Select a worktop from either our solid surface or laminate options. Alternatively opt for an integrated basin and worktop for a seamless look which works equally well with both contemporary and classic bathroom designs. See pages 129 - 131 for further details.

CLOSE COUPLED SENSOR FLUSH KIT With a simple wave of the hand, hygienic, contactless flushing is now here for close coupled WCs. Two sizes are available depending on the size of the flush button hole in the cistern lid. The button kits have been designed to retro-fit to existing WCs which have paddle operated flush valves. For cisterns which have pneumatic or cable operated flush valves, or where the button screws in directly to the flush valve, then the flush valve will also need to be swapped to our TR9033 valve which has a 2” base.

TAP OPERATING PRESSURE

Plumbing systems can sometimes suffer from poor flow rates. The UK is unique in that many homes are still using the more traditional, low pressure gravity fed plumbing systems commonly found in older properties.

BASIN TAPS Our classically styled tap ranges also offer basin taps, for separate control of hot and cold water.

BATH FILLER, BATH SHOWER MIXER Fill your bath with a deck-mounted bath filler in a contemporary or classic design and mix hot and cold water from a single spout. Alternatively upgrade to a bath shower mixer. The shower handset is really useful for washing hair or cleaning the bath.

Some manufacturers tend to design taps suitable for modern plumbing systems which can often cause disappointing flow rate when using the taps in UK homes. Tavistock’s in-house design team have

recognised this problem and engineered our taps for use with both high and low pressure systems. Most of our taps operate at 0.1bar or above.

Varsity basin mixer has a pop-up waste which includes a waste outlet, pop-up rod and lifting mechanism. For taps supplied without a waste, we have a few waste options as shown below. Unslotted wastes are for use where there is no integral overflow in the washbasin. If your basin is wall hung choose our modern black or chrome traps, or the more traditional styled version to complement your taps perfectly. SAFETY IN THE BATHROOM Mirrors Technical Information Tavistock illuminated mirrors have been designed and tested for compliance to electrical equipment (safety) regulations. All electrical connections should be made according to the latest national wiring regulations. Illuminated mirrors are suitable for installation in the bathroom within outside zones unless stated. Mirrors which are IP44 water resistance rated are suitable for use in zones 2 and outside zones in the bathroom. Illuminated mirrors are not suitable for installation in saunas, steam rooms, shower cubicles or above a bath tub. Products are only suitable for permanent installation. Installation by a suitably qualified electrician is required. Cabinets - Electrics Our illuminated cabinets have been designed and independently tested for compliance to electrical equipment (safety) regulations. They are only suitable for use outside zones 1 & 2 according to the latest IEE regulations. All cabinets are class 1 insulated and require an earth connection. Infrared Sensor All mirrors or cabinets featuring infrared technology must ensure that the sensor is mounted a minimum of 150mm from an adjacent wall or obstruction to ensure correct function.

If you are unsure we would recommend obtaining a swatch from our website or your local retailer and testing in the intended bathroom area Tavistock furniture is designed for use within domestic installations which are adequately ventilated and is not suitable for installation in wet rooms. As with any timber product, bathroom furniture will be adversely affected if it is subjected to excessive moisture. It is strongly recommended that adequate bathroom extractor fans are installed to prevent heavy condensation and all splashes and spillages must be mopped dry as soon as possible. All exposed or cut surfaces must be sealed with a suitable varnish or silicone sealant to prevent blowing. If this is not done, all warranty claims will be void. In particular, silicone sealant must be used around basin and worktop joints and around all edges of bath panels and plinths. All electrical products should be installed by an approved electrician inline with current wiring regulations.
