A Time Travel Adventure with Duck Egg Theatre The Ropewalk, Barton-Upon-Humber Monday 1st – Friday 5th August 10 – 3pm

Performance Saturday 6th August 7pm rehearsals from 3pm Climb aboard the TARDIS and become the new Doctor or Assistant on a spellbinding adventure through time and space! Work with Duck Egg Theatre on a brand new play written by you based on Dr Who’s journey through history.

Suitable for time travellers aged 7 – 16 yrs. Cost £20 bring a packed lunch

Time Travel Props with Michael Scrimshaw The Ropewalk, Barton-Upon-Humber Tuesday 2nd – Thursday 4th August 10 – 3pm Please come along and help make props for the play. Even if you’re not interested in acting you can still get involved in this exciting adventure, and help build a Tardis, some fierce dragons and Viking apparel!

£2 half day £5 full day bring a packed lunch if you would like to stay all day.

60s Fashion Spectacular! The Ropewalk, Barton-Upon-Humber Monday 8th – Friday 12th and Monday 15th – Friday 19th August 10 – 3pm Fashion Show Friday 2nd September 7pm rehearsals, hair and make up from 3pm Fancy yourself as the next international man of mystery or want to recreate that laid back hippy chic and retro flower power look? Join local textile artists in a throw back to Flower Power and the Swinging 60s. Professional hair and make up artists and dancers will all be on hand to help create that 60s retro look for a spectacular catwalk event on the 2nd September. So whether you’re a budding fashion designer or just like dressing up you won’t want to miss this Austin Powers meets Mary Quant fashion event.

Fashion Workshops with Wendy Chan Including a short presentation of 60s outfits from North Lincolnshire Museum Over these four days you will make shift dresses, mini skirts and tops with a 60s theme. Print your designs onto fabrics and transform old fabrics into new amazing outfits, you can even bring along some old clothes to give a new lease of life! You must attend the four days in order to get your outfit finished.

Tie Dye T-Shirts and Accessories with Janine Knight Learn how to make a crazy tie dye T-shirt and accessories to match. Choose from corsages, cuffs and belts.

Suitable for young people aged 8 – 11 yrs Cost £2 Monday 8th 1-3 pm and Tuesday 9th August 10am – 3pm The Ropewalk, Barton-Upon-Humber

Tie Dye Skirts and Accessories with Janine Knight Tie dye lengths of fabric to turn into skirts and make accessories to match. You will dye the fabric on Monday, please come back to make your skirt on Tuesday.

Screen Printed T-Shirts with Wendy Chan Print your own design inspired by the 60s onto your very own T-shirt!

Screen Printed Bags with Wendy Chan Print your own design inspired by the 60s onto your very own canvas bag! A must to finish off any outfit!

Flower Power Jewellery and Giant Flowers with Diane Higgins-Lee Using beads, felt and recycled plastic create these bright and colourful accessories, including necklaces, bracelets and rings. Then help make giant flower props for the fashion show.

Decorative Cuffs, Belts and Bags with Janine Knight Using recycled fabrics make accessories inspired by the 60s. Choose buttons, beads, ribbon and colourful fabrics to create accessories and decorate canvas bags essential to finish off the perfect outfit!

Pop Art Paper Accessories with Jennifer Ashby Create bright and bold jewellery and accessories from paper in the style of the Swinging Sixties. Use cut and punched-out paper shapes to layer up flowers and patterns that you can wear as necklaces, hair slides, bracelets, belts and more.

Flower Power Headbands and Paper Bead Jewellery with Jess Haughey Create headbands in a variety of styles from the hippy 60s or go for a more modern look. Learn how to make beads from paper and turn them into unique jewellery.

Giant Flowers with Janine Knight Using withies and tissue paper make these giant flowers to decorate the stage ready for the fashion show. Flowers can be taken home after the fashion show on Friday 2nd Sept and would make a great feature in any bedroom!

All young people taking part in fashion workshops between Mon 8th – Fri 19th August will be included in the fashion show. Please come to The Ropewalk with your items and outfits for a rehearsal on Thursday 1st Sept 2 - 5pm and Friday 2nd Sept at 3pm to include hair and make up ready for the performance at 7pm. Egyptian Artefacts with Marilyn Oliver Tuesday 2nd August 2 – 4pm Westcliff Youth Centre Produce your own famous Tutankhamen mask using paper mache and other materials. Your mask will be finished off in rich gold and blue to make a spectacular wall hanging. You can also make your own Cartouche with your name in hieroglyphics.

Kings and Queens Mosaics with Marilyn Oliver Wednesday 3rd August 2 – 4pm Barrow Village Hall Wednesday 10th August 1 – 3pm South Ferriby Village Hall Make your own colourful mosaic of a famous King or Queen! Henry VIII or Queen Elizabeth I in all their finery - using Funky Foam, shiney paper, jewels and other found items to create a richly decorated and beautiful work of art!

Castle Conquest with Marc Renshaw Thursday 4th August 1 – 3pm South Ferriby Primary School Taking Tattershall Castle for inspiration, design your own historic target game through which to roll and catapult novelty missiles!


Dinosaurs Rock with Michael Scrimshaw Monday 8th August 1 – 3pm Barnetby Primary School Tuesday 9th August 10 – 12pm Worlaby Village Hall Thursday 11th August 2 – 4pm Viking Resource Centre Nobody knows for sure what colour dinosaurs were, green or brown, grey all round... or stripes and sparkly spots! Make your own creature from the past inspired by dinosaurs we know or dinosaurs that we don’t know yet!

Viking Longboat with Marilyn Oliver Tuesday 16th August 1 – 3pm South Ferriby Primary School Create your own piece of history by making a Viking Longboat. Using clay and moulding and sculpting techniques make this splendid boat complete with shields, wooden mast and bellowing sail made from fabric.

Egyptian Headwear with Wendy Chan Wednesday 17th August 2 – 4pm Westcliff Youth Centre Thursday 18th August 2 – 4pm Viking Resource Centre Build your own words and artwork using the ancient Egyptian picture language of the hieroglyphs. Use paper and card to construct an original headpiece or arm band!

Time Capsule with Marc Renshaw Thursday 18th August 2 – 4pm Barrow Village Hall Friday 19th August 2 – 3pm Barnetby Primary School Make your own time capsule from recycled materials and use drawing to give people of the future a glimpse into our own time. After the workshop you can add your own mementos.

Historic Headgear with Michael Scrimshaw Monday 22nd August 10 – 12pm Worlaby Village Hall History is full of Kings and Queens, Princesses and Knights in shiny armour. Want to be one? Make a crown or knight’s helmet just like the characters from history!


Flower Power Accessories with Janine Knight Tuesday 23rd August 2 – 4pm Axholme Arts, Queen Street, Epworth Thursday 25th August 10 – 12pm Barnetby Primary School Inspired by 60s Flower Power, create these crazy colourful flowers of all shapes and sizes. Use to embellish a bag or item of clothing or turn into hair accessories, corsages and belts. Why not bring along an old item of clothing to give it a new lease of life!

Hippy Chic with Janine Knight Wednesday 24th August 2 – 4pm Westcliff Youth Centre Rug hooking has been a popular craft throughout history and was even used by the Vikings! Using Hessian and fabric scraps create a small panel in the colour and design of your choice. The sample can be made into a badge, coaster or decorative hanging.

Mini Bayeux Tapestries with Jess Haughey Wednesday 24th August 1 – 3pm South Ferriby Primary School The Bayeux Tapestry tells us a story and can be used to learn about historical events. Come and tell your own life story using fabric collage and stitch.

Greek Vases with Janine Knight Thursday 25th August 2 – 4pm Viking Resource Centre Using construction and paper mache techniques create these miniature Greek style vases that will hold a small amount of water.

Simple Basket Weaving with Janine Knight Friday 26th August 2 – 4pm Barrow Village Hall Basket weaving is an age old craft which dates back thousands of years. This is a really simple way of weaving a basket using everyday materials jazzed up with coloured Raffia.
