Ca’ Foscari Desk in the World
In 2012 the Internship & Career Service of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice established the Ca’ Foscari Desk in the World project to promote and develop internship and placement opportunities at the international level, as well as promoting Ca’ Foscari university courses around the world. What is it? The “Desk” is an information counter placed within the Italian Chambers of Commerce located overseas, with which Ca’ Foscari has reached an agreement. It represents a “bridge” between the University and the Companies situated in a particular country, to help bring together university, students and the international business world. Graduate or undergraduate students manage the “Desk” during an internship period. It can also be a placement opportunity for researchers. Objectives • Establish further agreements between the University and international companies, that will become internship hosts for students and graduates. • Develop placement opportunities for Ca’ Foscari graduates in international companies. • Foster and increase the number of contacts in order to jumpstart research projects and the collecting of material for the writing of theses and dissertations. • Promote Ca’ Foscari University and its courses. • Give students and/or graduates the opportunity to carry out an important experience of orientation and educational internship. • Provide support to Italian companies and young people overseas. The first internships were launched in June 2012 in Japan and in September 2012 in Singapore. Other “Desk” agreements have been signed with following Chambers of Commerce: 2012: South Africa, France (Paris), Australia (Melbourne), Bulgaria, Argentina (Rosario), Canada (Toronto) 2013: United Arab Emirates, Germany (Berlin), Australia (Brisbane), Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Hong Kong 2014: Russia, Switzerland (Zurich), and Belgium (Brussels)
