what
HAVE I LEARNED?
..............................................................................................................................................................................
This is how I like my embroidery. It is an elaborate piece of pop culture art, has unfinished ends, and the message is potent. Every single piece of sewing RosieG does is just lovely. She celebrates typography by stitching famous quotes and creates very cool illustrations with thread. {Craft Magazine | Aug 14, 2010} Whilst studying on my graphic design degree I have had to create relationships with peers, clients and tutors, requiring me to gain trust and respect in a professional manner. I feel it is important to continue this skill within a school environment, thus creating better working relationships within the teaching team, but also with students and their parents or guardians. I have also had the opportunity to work on some live briefs, which requires working to strict deadlines and producing multiple new ideas at a time. Also having to work with others and to accept both their advice and criticism of my work. This experience has given me a strong sense of self-motivation, and therefore I am determined in my aim of pursuing a career in teaching. I feel I have a lot to offer young people, and can enable them to understand the creative progress and get enjoyment out of exploring something new and exciting. As a hobby I create embroidered illustrations and typography, and as a result I am currently starting my own web business selling my work. I am also fortunate that

I am the Editorial Assistant at Sew magazine}. Each month we run a ‘online’ page which is a round up our favorite places on the internet, and for our February 2011 issue I would love to include rosannageissler.blogspot.com as our Blog of the Month. .............................................................................. my work has been featured in international magazines and blogs. These accomplishments also reflect my self motivation and work ethic and also how confident I have become in my abilities. Through this determination for success I have been inspired further to share my talents with students, and pass on the knowledge I have acquired. I am an individual with a warm personality and a creative flair, who is eager to learn more about art and design and also teaching it. I want to educate students whilst encouraging them to discover aspects of the subject they find personally inspiring. I believe I should be given a place because of my enthusiasm for teaching and my subject area. I have a lot to offer to a school and its pupils both in and out of a classroom. I recognise the responsibility that comes with this career, because as a teacher you help to mould a child’s character so they will leave school as a well-rounded and prepared individual. This is something which I will do to the best of my ability. As I have learned through my own life experiences, including those in school, that they have helped form the person I am today.

MY ETSY
.............................................................................................................................................................................. Learning to speak to customers and potential clients if the most important thing I have learnt. Opening my eyes has really realized that I have to start learning more describing works for a wide range of customers and make sure the language to used is easy to understand however what I have realized that an image speaks more words, taking a good photo of my work or scanning a great quality for my pieces of embroidery is very important. For my Etsy and Foksy I have learned a lot about photoshop, I photoshoped my pieces ino frames to look homey I know that it is very important for people to sympathise with a picture make the picture look like it could fit into their home. Without my new photoshop skills learning about layer pieces of work to look very realistic is very important. Also my managing skills and organization I have to check my Etsy everyday to see if I have anyone asking about my work, it as given me some great business skills learning about paypal and not to be afraid to charge the amount for a piece of work. Etsy has been a great place to also market myself and gain more coverage for my work adding shops and items as favorites get people to recognise you as a designer.

May be small enough to purchase a bag or two from your garden centre, especially if you`re only just getting to know how to grow brussel sprouts you might not have the organic matter to compost. Tamp this down with the back of your rake to make it firm... but only when the soil is dry enough i.e. not sticking to your boots. Then lightly rake it over to produce a fine tilth. Mark out the rows using string stretched between two stakes for a straight line and make shallow drills along the length of the string with a trowel or the edge of a hoe 13mm(1/2”) deep and rows 15cm(6”) apart. Sow the seed thinly into the drills and cover them over with soil, lightly firming with the head of the rake. Mark both ends of the row, labelling one end with the variety and date of sowing. Keep the seed bed moist, always use a fine spray. When the brussels sprout plants are about 2.5cm(1”) tall, thin the seedlings to about 7.5cm(3”) apart in the rows. This is to stop overcrowding thus causing the seed-

future projects re-visit art direction
............................................................................................................................................................................
Expanding my design practice, my future plans is design another art direction shoot because I loved the Art direction in 2nd year when I did my Boundaries project with the dances. It was my favorite brief in 2nd year. I would like to do a fashion shoot with my designed T-shirts in the wood and make it very earthy, and make an editorial piece about the process and interview with me. Owl T Rosana Geissler Garments are made using speclised processes and techniques. Embroidery, Colour and customisation will vary slightly from garmetn to garment as this is not a mass produced product. There also maybe holes in this style. This is part of the design. Enjoy wearing this piece of clothing as much as I enjoyed making it.
