CRISIS COCOON

19

Made from recycled plastic bags, the crisis cocoon serves as an alternative shelter for those in need. Plastic bags provide storage for essential items. Bags can be added to form a wall or taken off to create apertures. The qualities of the material plastic enables the cocoon to envelope the user, replicating the qualities of a womb. A sleeping bag on top of the plastic prevents users from sweating against the material.

STREET ART GALLERY

21

Located in the Valley the Street Art Gallery provides an open canvas for urban graffiti artists. Drawing inspiration from the fluid style of graffiti, the ribbon and path concept is developed. The ribbon integrates the elements of wall and roof and interior and exterior creating evocative and fluid spaces.

3. Theatre

In an age dominated by mass production and instant meals, many people have lost control over their food and valuable granny skills such as preserving. Preserving not only provides sustainable benefits, it also fosters relationship development and connects people with the simple pleasures of food.

Jars is a cafĂŠ and preserving venture which aims to reconnect people with the forgotten pleasures and experiences attached to the art of preserving by revealing the hidden process of jamming and pickling to consumers. Here the process of preserving is presented to them like a theatre.
