A change in both social and physical environment results in: Behavioural characteristics associated with DD often being exaggerated Increased levels of anxiety Alterations in sleep and eating patterns Lowered self confidence and worth Failure to meet potential
Areas of concern • The most obvious concern is in relation to studying and the successful completion of their chosen course. • Having the skills to manage a much less structured learning environment.
Areas of concern But in addition we often need to address issues concerning the: • Management of self care and care of belongings • Relationships and use of leisure time
Study • Organisational skills common across the range of DD • Lack of clarity about expectations • Note taking, academic writing and revision • Accessing support on offer • Co-occurrence of other DD
