SUMMER SEASON IN STUDIO TWO
Confessions of a RedHeaded CoffeeShop Girl Written and performed by Rebecca Perry Directed by Matt Bernard
July 9-11, 2015 – 7:30PM July 11, 2015 – 2PM Meet Joanie Little: feisty redhead and anthropology graduate. She’s stuck working as a barista in a corporate coffee shop in the city … well, that’s no fun! Eager to use her actual skills, Joanie turns this local coffee shop upside down when she starts reporting her “findings” on the “creatures” (a.k.a. humans) of her “Coffeeshop Jungle” as though she were Jane Goodall herself, bushwhacking through the African jungle to study chimpanzees! Hilarity ensues! Bosses are angered! The local news has a heyday! Jazzy tunes, co-worker showdowns and life lessons all in under an hour. This is for anyone who’s ever had a job they couldn’t stand.

Vaudevillians
The Vaudevillians
Written and compiled by Peter Colley & Heinar Piller Musical arrangements and original music by David Warrack
July 16-18, 22-25, 2015 – 7:30PM July 18 & 25, 2015 – 2PM This is the story of vaudeville ... from its early beginnings, to entertaining the troops and through its ultimate demise with the advent of movies. It is told, through skits and music, by three vaudevillians near the end of their careers. They share memories and take the audience on a trip down memory lane, re-enacting the shows they once did, in an effort to prove they still have what it takes to be stars. The show borrows music and sketches from music hall, gypsy and minstrel shows. Old favourites, such as “Ma, He’s Making Eyes at Me” and original music written for the show, make this sure-fire entertainment for audiences of all ages.

On Golden Pond By Ernest Thompson
August 6-8, 12-15, 2015 – 7:30PM August 8 & 15, 2015 – 2PM A classic American comedy/drama that’s every bit as touching, warm and witty today as when it debuted on Broadway in 1979. Retired couple Ethel and Norman Thayer spend every summer at their home on Golden Pond. This year, their vacation is interrupted with the unexpected arrival of their estranged daughter, her fiancé and his teenage son. The turbulent relationship between father and daughter, the generation gap between young and old and the difficulties facing a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage all combine in a play that gives us unique insight into the modern family.

The Debaters
The Debaters is the hit CBC Radio show that features Canada’s hottest comedians going toe to toe, debating topics on the minds of Canadians. Part comedy competition, part quiz show and part stand-up performance, The Debaters is a clever combination of sharply crafted comedic rants and hilarious ad libs. The audience picks the winners based on who delivered the best logic and laughs, the best rhetoric and rant. Facts and force of argument can earn points but, in the end, jokes will likely win the match. Comedy trumps all. The format is competitive, but it’s not to be taken too seriously. And it’s not to be missed. The Debaters ... where arguments are won with funny and with fact!

Evil Dead The Musical
This hilarious, record-breaking Canadian musical (created by George Reinblatt, Frank Cipolla, Melissa Morris and Christopher Bond) tells the outrageous story of five college friends spending the weekend in an abandoned cabin in the woods after accidentally unleashing an evil force that turns them all into demons. In addition to some dismembered limbs, demons telling bad jokes and catchy tunes (“Look Who’s Evil Now,” “All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons”), the show features a saucy combination of wit and sexual innuendo that keeps audiences laughing out loud.
May be inappropriate for ages 12 and under. Contains strong language plus a hilarious amount of fake blood, and over-the-top guts and gore! Patron Advisory: Those seated in the designated “Splatter Zone” seat locations will be splashed by stage “blood” and get increasingly wet over the course of the performance. save 25% save 20% save 15% pick 5 pick 4 pick 3 regular B

Ashley MacIsaac
He’s one of the most celebrated Canadian roots musicians of all time, having sold in excess of 500,000 albums. Ashley MacIsaac has garnered international acclaim by playing the fiddle in that hard-nosed, traditional Cape Breton style while adding his own spin and updating Celtic music to appeal to a broader spectrum of fans. Over the years, he has experimented with musical styles, evolving into an award-winning, genre-bending performer, writer and singer who has toured and performed for sellout crowds around the world, including the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremonies. No frills, just great music by a proud Canadian who shreds on a fiddle like no one else can.

Theatre Miss Caledonia
Written and performed by Melody A. Johnson Musical arrangements and original score by Alison Porter Directed by Rick Roberts & Aaron Willis
October 22-24, 2015 – 8PM The year is 1955. Desperate to escape the chicory-pulling, stall-cleaning, hay-baling drudgery of life in RR#2 Caledonia, Peggy Ann Douglas has a plan. Following in the footsteps of starlet Debbie Reynolds, Peggy Ann will simply become a movie star – and she will start her journey to the top by winning the local pageant. Can she sing, twirl and pivot her way into the judges’ hearts, or will shaky nerves and a “Puritanical Work Ethic” sabotage her efforts? Brimming with love, comedy and a staggering work ethic of its own, Miss Caledonia is a delightful exploration of optimism and reality down on the farm. General Admission

In 1985, while she was a student at the National Theatre School in Montreal, Brooke Johnson became friends with Pierre Elliott Trudeau. It had been a year and a half since he’d stepped down as prime minister and now he was walking to work, putting cereal bowls on cartoon placemats, washing dishes and making peanut butter on toast. Through reminiscences, journal entries and correspondence, Brooke brings to life the story of a remarkable friendship. This private insight into the man and the times – as seen through the eyes of a passionate artist – is not to be missed. At once vital and charming, poignant and very funny, Trudeau Stories is about friendship and loss ... and about who the heck we think we are. General Admission

He’s a musician! He’s an inventor! He’s a nut! He’s been called the Thomas Edison of entertainers, a wizard of one-liners and a lightning bolt of lunacy. His astounding gadgets, preposterous songs, impeccable comic timing and kooky take on classic vaudeville have thrilled and entertained fans of all ages for 4½ decades. Juno Awardwinner Al Simmons is a creative genius whose highly original performances of profound wackiness and of off-the-wall inventions have taken the arts of music and comedy to unparalleled heights of hilarity. Young or old, you cannot fail to appreciate this man’s frenetic stage antics and mind-boggling lovableness.
