Intro Oil Painting

Beginning Watercolor

Intro Oil Painting is the place to start for those who are curious but have very little or no experience with the medium. Students learn enough of the basics to get started.

Have you always wanted to give watercolor painting a try? Have you painted in the past and want to start again? This is the class for you! Join us as we learn to create successful paintings with demonstrations and hands-on experience with new techniques. Class materials are not provided. Supply list is attached to your receipt or is available in the Rosewood Arts Center office.

Art for the Extreme Beginner Ages: 16+

Adult Machine Basics

Are you feeling creative and want to take an art class but don't know where to start? Art for the Extreme Beginner is a crash course in a small sampling of different art media. Try your hand at painting, clay, printmaking and more. A different material will be introduced each week. Absolutely no art experience required! Ages: 16+

Learn to use your sewing machine or borrow one of Rosewood's in a fun setting. Students review threading, stitches, tension, bobbins, bobbin winding, parts of the machine, accessories and trouble shooting. Students have two easy practice projects to learn seam allowance, precision, stitch lengths and widths. Students should bring, small sewing kit, thread and machine (optional).

Pattern Reading, Layout & Drafting Ages: 16+

Pattern reading and layout is Tracy’s favorite. Students learn the history of pattern sizing, how to take measurements, how to read a sewing pattern, popular symbols, tips on buying patterns and much more. As a special bonus there is an extra hour for this class to draft a simple A-line skirt pattern. Watercolor, Any Skill Level

ADULT/TEEN JEWELRY

Ages: 16 +

Class focuses on painting landscapes with demonstrations and handson experience. Beginners will gain experience, learning in the basics about brushes, paints and other materials to use. Those with some experience will have the opportunity to improve their landscape paintings. Class materials are not provided. Wirewrapping for Jewelry Ages: 16 +

Enjoy a creative alternative to standard jewelry. This class requires minimal tools, no soldering and is completely portable. Each class will complete a project involving wire only and/or with another object, including plastic, glass, minerals or polished stones. Wire is provided for first class only. $3 materials fee due to instructor at first class.

Intermediate Watercolor

Basic Jewelry Construction

Ages: 16 +

Ages: 16+

Students push their watercolor skills beyond the basics in this course. This class is for students who have experience in watercolor and wish to continue to hone their skills while learning new methods and techniques. Previous watercolor experience required.

This class is an introduction to the basics of jewelry construction. Students will explore a project from start to finish and gain knowledge of sawing, filing, soldering and polishing. Brass and copper for one project is included and tools will be provided.
