Paper-cased shot gun cartridges - Quality without compromise The Waidmannsheil Black Paper is the only shotshell in the world that still uses a cardboard base wad and paper insert. Whereas other makers use a plastic base wad. Rottweil swears by the classic method of spooling and pressing the base wad out of special cardboard, thus sealing the case head against gas pressure. Even the cardboard insert around the combustion chamber is unique. When it comes to gas resistance, the cardboard base wad is the equal of its modern plastic counterpart. With the exception of the brass head, the Waidmannsheil case is made completely out of paper, thus fulfilling the requirements of an environmentally responsible cartridge. The Waidmannsheil cartridge is then fully sealed with an eco-friendly water-based varnish so that it will not swell if exposed to dampness. Thus these paper cartridges load easily even in the worst weather whilst maintaining even pressures upon firing.

Information on tungsten The element tungsten - with the chemical symbol W for 'Wolfram' - derives its name from the Swedish ''tung sten' meaning 'heavy stone'. This element is special due to its extremely high density and chemical stability. Furthermore, it is extremely corrosionresistant.
