BRAND REFRESH PLYMOUTH GUILD Charity Based Support Organisation BRIEF Plymouth Guild a charity based support organisation requested a brand refresh to compliment their existing logo. This chosen design was inspired by internal market research which established that the company was often referred to as being an ‘umbrella organisation’ as it is home to seven public services. The umbrella graphic is made up of seven segments to represent each of the services within the organisation. Each service was assigned its own colour scheme, a hand-scripted font and hand-drawn illustrations were incorporated into the brand genetics to enhance a ‘human presence’ throughout all the communication channels (a necessity given the nature of the organisations services).

They wanted a new corporate identity and brand design that would avoid all the clichÊ iconic associations with skip hire and waste management. An abstract representation of green fields and blue sky formed the basis of this identity to give the company a more professional outlook, whilst acknowledging their environmental commitment and responsibilities.

A campaign was required to target 16-19 year olds who were at a crossroads in their career and to highlight the benefits of gaining an apprenticeship with Skills Group, by focusing on the opportunity to sustain lifestyle choices whilst enjoying first rate training.

CITY COLLEGE PLYMOUTH BRIEF Having recently been re-branded the College required a recruitment campaign that would not only encourage school leavers, parents and employers to choose the College as their choice for further education and training, but would also compliment the new brand ethos and identity. Strong quotations from students, parents and employers were formed in the shape of a wave to mirror that of the wave icon incorporated into the new College logo. A strong presence of the new corporate cyan coupled with a complimentary strap-line completed this successful recruitment campaign.
