March 2021 Help the launch of Community Centres Projects post lockdown

A variety of roles, we are looking to have volunteers in place, ready for re-opening • A Creative Volunteer to support a group of participants make bags for the environmental project - ‘Boomerang Bags’ • A Lead Gardener with a basic level of horticultural knowledge and passion for gardening to assist adults with learning difficulties with their project. A phone call can make all the difference

Help ease the isolation brought about for local residents shielding from Covid-19 and Carer’s with a regular friendly telephone call or virtual call. Calls could last from 10-30 minutes, 1-5 days per week, supporting 2-4 people. Also needed is Community Outreach Support to deliver essential shopping/medication to vulnerable people shielding at home. 2-3 trips per week (4-6 hours). Local Charities looking for Trustees / Chairperson / Treasurer

Strong leadership skills, Financial skills experience, good understanding of the voluntary sector, available to represent the charity at public events and able to chair a meeting? These roles will vary but looking at an average of 5-10 hrs per week. The offices are based in Elmbridge but the role will be predominantly home based. Help end isolation and loneliness for an older person

A charity for older people in Elmbridge is looking for Befrienders. With current restrictions this will be with a phone call and moving forward with visits. A commitment of once a week is required, at a time to suit you and the client. No experience is necessary, just the ability to empathise with older people together with good listening skills.
