Veronica Ferres is one of the most famous actresses in Germany, enjoying an amazing career

wich included some twenty theatrical feature films and tv movies, a few of major german films and tv awards, and her own production company. More than ever passionnate about her profession, the bright fifty-year old actress reveals a great serenity, and she admits being found of new adventures and challenges. She is now conquering Hollywood with talent. After “Pay the ghost” in wich she costars with Nicolas Cage, she will be seen in the ecologic thriller “Salt and Fire”, directed by Werner Herzog with Michael Shannon and Gael Garcia Bernal (December 2016), and The Comedian with Robert De Niro et Danny DeVito.

A. Adventures, I love adventures as they teach me to adapt to new situations and to look for the silver lining in whatever challenge the world throws my way. Sometimes they can be exciting, sometimes risky, but with every new adventure I learn something new about myself. Adventures allow me to continuously test myself as they ultimately help me to become the best possible version of me.

D. Desire, I have an insatiable desire for new adventures and challenges. Life is full of so many wonderful, exciting and mad opportunities and I want to experience as many as possible. I crave new ideas, new people and the unknown to show me different views and new perspectives and help me grow. Thankfully my job gives me many opportunities to become a different person, so I get the chance to explore their worlds as well as my own.

B. Bolivia, shooting there last year with Michael Shannon and Gael Garcia Bernal and being directed by Werner Herzog, was one of the most physically and mentally challenging roles of my life. The salt flats there were so vast, so otherworldly, and so surreal. The whole experience gave me a new perspective and I am grateful for my time there.

E. Every role I play has to be like a sister. You always love them even if they behave strangely. You are so close to your roles, get to know each and every one so intimately that they stay a part of you, like a big family. Some then go on to lead their own lives, but some stay with you, visit you on a regular basis and make you laugh when you think back on the time you’ve spent together. I generally get on very well with my ‘sisters’ and I am very glad that I get to know them and they become a part of my life.

C. Children’s dreams are so important. I truly believe that you can achieve anything as long as you work hard and are open-minded. It is so important to support them in whatever they want to do and help them believe in themselves and trust in their abilities. My parents have always encouraged me and supported me in my dreams and I do the same with the younger generations.

F. Family and friends. I love and support my family unconditionally and they are the same with me. They are the most important thing in my life, they inspire and ground me.

G. Generosity, one of the most generous people I ever met was John Malkovich. Not only is he immensely talented and a pleasure to work with, he is also so relaxed and cool and I am very fortunate to count such a warmhearted and giving person as a good friend.

P. Protection. I’ve always felt protective and responsible for the younger generations. They have so much power, innovation, joy and hope and the world can learn a lot from them. I think it’s important to listen to them, but also guide and support them in their endeavors.

H. Hadassah. Since 2011 I am the ambassador of the worldwide organization, Hadassah. The money I raise goes to the Pediatric Intensive Care Station at the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, which is the biggest pediatric hospital in the city. Hadassah’s mission is to lay the basis for a peaceful togetherness of all cultures and religions in the Middle East through healing, teaching and research.

Q. Questions, I love questions and in my opinion, there are no bad questions, just bad answers. Asking the right question is often even more important than the answer in order to grow, progress and most importantly learn. I am glad that I was always encouraged to ask questions and enquire about the world around me and I thoroughly encourage that in others. R. Role. Every role that I have played, has taught me something about myself and the world. I have been very fortunate with the vast variety of roles I have played so far and I am looking forward to all the wonderful, strange, strong and unique characters I’m going to meet and be in the future. Every character has its own view of the world and it’s fascinating to see the world through their eyes.

I. Incredible cast….“The Comedian” was a film that had the most exciting cast that I’ve ever worked with, including Robert De Niro, Danny DeVito, Leslie Mann, Harvey Keitel and Patti LuPone. It was such fun to work with so many incredibly talented people and I am really looking forward to seeing the end result when the film comes out in 2017. J. Joy, boundless joy. I’m living my dream of being an actor and a story teller. Every day allows me to be creative and come up with new ideas. And with every new idea I can face and overcome new challenges. I love what I do and every new role, every new challenge makes my heart sing.

S. Success. Success is a wonderful thing, but it doesn’t just happen overnight. For me it all came from working very hard for my goals and it has never changed me. Growing up, I was taught the value of hard work and being reliable, and I still live by those principles today. Every day I work hard, doing the best that I can to achieve my goals.

K. Key dates. For me the most important dates of my life are the birth of my daughter and the death of my parents. They had a profound impact on me and definitely defined me as a person for two very different reasons. I love my daughter more than anything and her coming into my life, giving life to her is the most incredible thing. And though I miss my parents dearly I am very grateful for the time I had with them.

T. Theatre. Theatre is where it all started for me. Performing on stage is such a unique and unforgettable experience. I enjoy the closeness to the audience, their immediate reactions and the direct connection I have with them. U. USA, the country of unknown and endless possibilities. I am always impressed by the positivity and optimism I encounter there. Especially LA is wonderful with its beaches and the sea and brimming and buzzing with creative people.

L. Life is full of wonderful surprises. You just have to keep your heart, mind and soul open and see what life has to offer you with all its opportunities, challenges and joys. I definitely want to live my life to the fullest. Every day I am excited to see what the day may bring and what turns life has in store for me. There is so much more to explore and discover - I’m getting really excited just thinking about it.

V. Veronica, the saint in the bible who gave Jesus a cloth to wipe his face on the way to His crucifixion. W. World, my daughter and sons are my world.

M. Morning. Every morning when I get up, I feel the same passion for acting that I had when I first started. I am so lucky to have found something that gives me so much joy yet still challenges me and demands the best of me.

X. American History X, an incredible movie directed by Tony Kaye, who is a genius, with a great cast. Edward Norton is fantastic in his role. He is very well believable, so intense and real. The film has gripped me from the start and still has an impact on me today. Also really good was the musical score by Anne Dudley that really helped to bring out the dramatic effect.

N. Nicholas Cage was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. He was so respectful, polite and always well prepared. Together with Uli Edel we had a really good time while filming Pay the Ghost. And without wanting to reveal too much, but my character had a terrific death in the film.

Y. Yes, a word that I say much too often. I usually like saying ‘yes’ to things, being positive and open: ‘Yes’ to life, to adventure, to hard work, to joy, but I need to take care not to overdo it.

O. Olive oil, we have our own olive garden in the South of France. It’s our little haven. I also really love cooking with it, it’s so healthy and versatile and just adds that smooth taste of summer. One day we will make our own oil from the olives in the garden…hmmm, yummy.

Z. Zen Buddhism, a fascinating religion that is life changing with its way of vigilance and self-discovery in meditation. It is the idea to experience living from moment to moment, in the here and now that is very alluring.

Larry Weitz is an abstract artist who is well respected in the Palm Springs, Ca. and represented in many galleries in the surrounding area. His work is also represented in Los Angeles, as well as participating in L.A. art auctions.

LW restored the Butterfly-roof Alexander home that once belonged to sculptor John Kennedy, and the location site for the mid-century modern fashion story «La Storia / Tuxedo Circle».

Both Laurie and Larry have been fortunate to have the best of both worlds, living in the desert and on the ocean.

They have opened their houses numerous times to help raise money and provide a platform to expose emerging artists, fashion designers, and all things that are art related.

Laurie was approached three years ago to join the Board of Directors of Modernism Week in NewYork, because of her passion for art.

LM works with a different charity each month to bring emerging fashion designers exposure.A creator at heart, Laurie has made her own «fashion runway» in the back yard of the mid-century modern Palm Springs home to raise money through silent auctions.

Créateur au grand cœur, Laurie a fait son «défilé de mode» dans la cour arrière de la maison moderne de Palm Springs pour amasser des fonds par le biais des ventes aux enchères.

These funds go directly to FIDM design school as well as other fashion charities. Many Project Runway alumni have had the benefit of her generosity, including Michael Costello, Mondo Guerrero, and Gordana Gelhausen, now known as Goga Couture.

LW most recent fundraiser involved Debra Hovel,who designs hand made shoes,photographed in «La Storia».The proceeds were donated to Desert Aids Project/ 100 women, which cares for women and children affected with HIV.

’est ici depuis 2007 que Corinne Javaloyès a installé sa caverne d’Ali Baba. Cette experte rachète et vend de l’argenterie en métal argenté et en argent massif, ancienne et d’occasion. Passionnée et incollable dans le domaine des arts de la table, elle vous fera remonter le temps jusqu’au XVIIIe, le siècle où l’argenterie prend ses lettres de noblesse, même si les tables royales en particulier sous le règne de Louis XIV - ont toujours été ornées des plus somptueuses pièces d’argenterie. Dans les vitrines, des couverts bien sûr mais aussi des chandeliers, des plats de service, des légumiers, des poêlons, des chocolatières, théières et cafetières et toutes sortes de petits objets comme des porte-couteaux, boîtes à musique, pinces à sucre, des pièces de Puiforcat à Christofle : la liste est infinie. Le credo de Corinne Javaloyès ? Rendre accessible l’argenterie dans notre quotidien et se faire plaisir pour retrouver le goût du beau chez soi. Son ambition ? Elégante et intemporelle, la collection de miroirs présentoirs « Bettina à Paris »

La genèse de cette collection se résume dans le parcours

de sa créatrice, Bettina Amberg.Très jeune, elle quitte l’Allemagne pour vivre dans la ville qui symbolise la liberté et le luxe : Paris. Mannequin pour de grandes maisons de couture, elle devient ensuite « accrocheuse de tableaux » et pénètre dans les intérieurs des plus grands collectionneurs. Un changement de cap la conduit à travailler dans l’industrie durant vingt-cinq ans. Mais en 2015, elle revient à ses premières amours : c’est la naissance de sa marque « Bettina à Paris ». Pour le lancement de sa griffe, elle a imaginé une collection inédite de miroirs présentoirs. « Objet décoratif, le miroir offre un espace que l’on peut détourner et exploiter différemment. S’il permet de renouveler notre vision, la tablette procure de la magie et du rêve car on a l’impression que l’objet posé flotte littéralement. Il se regarde et en même temps, on entre dans son histoire », explique-t-elle. Pièces uniques signées, ces miroirs présentoirs sont réalisés par les meilleurs talents : miroitiers, encadreurs et laqueurs dont certains ont le label « Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant ». « Éclairer le monde » une installation accueillie au Pavillon Henri IV du 15 septembre au 15 novembre 2016 Inscrite dans le programme des Journées Européennes du Patrimoine, l’installation de Marc Ash a immédiatement séduit le propriètaire du Pavillon Henri IV, Charles-Eric Hoffmann : une façon symbolique de concilier « Patrimoine et citoyenneté », thème de cette 33ème édition. Quel plus bel écrin que cette ancienne demeure royale transformée au XIXème en un prestigieux hôtel 4 étoiles ? C’est dans l’oratoire où naquit le roi Louis XIV et classé monument historique, que l’installation, présentée pour la première au public francilien, prendra place. Lors d’un voyage en avion, l’idée s’impose au plasticien comme une révélation. Tandis que l’hôtesse lui remet une pile de journaux, par le hublot, un rayon de soleil éclaire la Une du Monde. Il réalise qu’il survole peut-être au même moment des pays où la parole est bâillonnée. Son oeuvre ? 10 000 journaux compressés et ficelés en piles et mis en lumière. Son message ? « L’information doit pouvoir circuler librement partout dans le monde afin que les continents perdus, les âmes abandonnées puissent, elles aussi, sortir de l’ombre ». Si éclairer le monde est une invitation à réfléchir sur la liberté de penser, il faut aussi y voir un hommage à la presse papier qui connaît une crise sans pareil depuis l’émergence d’Internet et des réseaux sociaux. L’aventure de Nara Camicie commence il y a 32 ans, lorsque le milanais Walter Annaratone, issu d’une famille de détaillants, songe à la possibilité d’ouvrir des magasins en franchise spécialisés dans la chemise. Un produit de qualité accompagné d’une image et d’un univers soignés aurait toute sa place sur les marchés italien et international. Il s’unit dans l’aventure à deux autres jeunes entrepreneurs, Mario Pellegrino, styliste, et Enzo Pellettieri, gérant d’une boutique de chemise; leurs sociétés fondent et donnent naissance à NARACAMICIE. La première boutique est inaugurée à Milan Via Montenapoleone, mythique rue du shopping chic italien. Elle reste aujourd’hui la référence pour la distribution et pour l’image de la marque. Portrait of a diving addict in Indonesia Muljadi Pinneng Sulungbudi spends most of his time traveling and making documentaries for a web series : «Wet Traveler». He became a professional diver in 2009 and underwater photographer /videographer in 2011. Pinneng is a real exploration passionate and regularly wins international photo competitions. Diving is his life and dream. Every time a diving trip is coming, he always feels like a new diver that couldn’t wait to see something new ahead. He always finds something new in every dive he has. “Especially if I really dive in places no one else has ever done, I am writing a new page of my life”. Une expédition humaine dans un univers dépaysant

Le trésor de l’Indonésie, c’est aussi une réflexion sur soi et une initiation aux plaisirs simples de la vie. Appréhender avec timidité une île encore presque sauvage et découvrir avec bonheur la douceur de la quiétude. Un lieu paisible et déconnecté, pourrait-on dire pra- tiquement de la « réalité ». L'Hôtel de la Villeon ÉTAPE DE CHARME EN VALLÉE DU RHÔNE

n allant vers le sud, passage obligé par la Route Nationale 7 : l’occasion d’une escale, comme le font les croisiéristes, à Tournon-surRhône, au cœur de la vallée du Rhône. Derrière une façade discrète, à deux pas de la collégiale Saint-Julien, se cache l’Hôtel de la Villeon, un hôtel qui a ouvert en mai 2015. Inscrit aux Monuments Historiques, cette ancienne maison particulière, vous plongera dans un décor élégant, inspiré du XVIIIème. Sobriété et modernité, avec quelques touches discrètes dans l’esprit d’un cabinet de curiosité. Seize chambres dont quatre suites réparties sur trois niveaux. Coup de cœur pour le très beau salon de lecture ainsi que le bar « Le Gabriel » qui donne sur un joli patio et le jardin suspendu, un écrin de verdure de 2 000m2 : vue exceptionnelle sur les coteaux de l’Hermitage, avec les vignobles des maisons « Chapoutier » et « Paul Jaboulet ». Possibilité de privatiser la cave à vins pour l’organisation d’une dégustation à la carte. L’étape est idéale pour rayonner alentour et visiter le Vivarais méridional. Quant à l’âme du lieu, c’est sa radieuse directrice, Valérie Antomarchi qui l’incarne à merveille. Inutile de dire qu’elle a fait ses armes dans deux des meilleurs établissements parisiens, le Plaza Athénée et Le Lutétia.
