FABRIC PATTERN LAYOUT EXPLANATION
Fabric Pattern Layout Explanation Rowe and Robin Bruce When a fabric is cut with this arc and sewn together, the lines will match in the center, but can become skewed as it curves and moves out to the left and right. This is due to the arc in the pattern and stretch in some fabrics.
Most cushion patterns have a “swell” or arc along the sides. This allows for a plush crown and seams/welts to be straight.
®
Fabric Pattern Layout Explanation Rowe and Robin Bruce The little zig-zag white line in this fabric pattern just happens to be along the seam. You see part of it in the center, but it dies off towards the ends. This is not a flaw, just the arc in the cutting pattern to allow for the crown.
We take pride in developing styles with curve, shape and convergence. Frame or cushion curves may not allow a fabric pattern to be perfectly straight.

The stripes on this ottoman run vertical on the front and back, and line up with the top. Notice the sides follow the same vertical direction as the front and back, so the stripes will run the opposite direction as the top.

Left and right panels are more elongated.
Fabric Pattern Layout Explanation Rowe and Robin Bruce This ottoman is a rectangle. Since the angles on the top of the ottoman are different, the lines will not match up.
Top and bottom panels are wider.
Left and right panels match at the center.
Top and bottom panels match at the center.
It starts at the center, with the vertical stripes matching and horizonal stripes matching, but because it is not square, they will not match the panel to the left or right. ®
Fabric Pattern Layout Explanation Rowe and Robin Bruce Arms without Seams Stripes are vertical on outarm and in-arm. Because there is no seam, the pattern rolls over the arm. The stripe on the front arm panel will be vertical Arms with Seams Stripes are matched from inarm, over the arm top panel, to the out arm. The front stump panel stripe will be horizontal because the pattern has to match the top arm panel.
